Let me repeat what was said after that:

"The Jazz and the Mavs were damn near shoulder to shoulder in the 80s. Guess who stayed together in the 90s and played the Bulls twice in the finals?"

If the 80s Mavs stayed together as long as the 80s Jazz team did, what makes you think they wouldn't have had success in the 90s like the Jazz did?

Look at the Mavs players went on to help OTHER teams go to championships after being split up.

Please answer that.

I'm not the idiot blaming the Mavs team for their GM splitting them up.

no one on those mavs teams were as good as malone, or stockton. There's no evidence they would've done anything in the 90s had they stayed together. That's your opinion. How many HOFs were on the 87 mavs that lost to the lakers in the WCF?

1988.....Dantley and Donaldson were gone.

Why?

their GM.

Why are you still blaming Mavs PLAYERS for what their GM DID?

Yet the Mavs TEAM went to the WCF in 88 following the Jazz in 87. They traded some of their players mid season.

Your points stay flawed.

You brought up the Mavs record in 88 and 89 WITHOUT mentioning who was no longer on the team.

That Utah team was complete ass. They needed the decline of the Lakers, Blazers, Suns, Rockets & Sonics to finally make the Finals. :camby:

All the teams LeBron's faced in the Finals would easily beat them. :beli:

Why are you posting this old infographic? This information is flawed because it didn't take the lockout into account which is why some of the teams LeBron faced didn't have 50 wins even though they likely would have given their pace...

'16 Golden State Warriors | 73 wins
'16 Toronto Raptors | 56 wins
'15 Atlanta Hawks | 60 wins
'14 Chicago Bulls | 50 wins
'14 Indiana Pacers | 56 wins
'13 San Antonio Spurs | 58 wins, in reality a 60+ win team Pop rests guys
'12 Oklahoma City Thunder | 47 wins, in lockout shortened season on pace for 58 wins
'12 Boston Celtics | 39 wins, in lockout shortened season on pace for 50 wins, in reality early injuries hurt their win totals
'12 Indiana Pacers | 42 wins, in lockout shortened season on pace for 53 wins
'11 Chicago Bulls | 62 wins
'11 Bostons Celtics | 56 wins
'07 Detroit Pistons 53 wins

By the time LeBron retires he'll probably have beaten 15-18 50+ win teams. Also, LeBron is the only one to have beaten a 70 win team out the names on that list.
LeBron is up there with Bird and Magic in terms of 50 win teams beaten, he's the only one to have beaten a 70 win team and he's only 32 by the time he retires he'll at least be in the Duncan range. This narrative needs to stop.

How the series played out doesn't change shyt about my point.

Exactly what are you deconstructing that I've said?

Did Westphal run a gimmick scheme?

Yes. Do you disagree?

Everyone runs a gimmick scheme. Including Tex Winter with the triangle, Sloan with PNR, etc.

game 7 would've been in phoenix :patrice:

Game 7 would have been in Phoenix that series as the Suns had homecourt advantage.

I stand corrected :hubie:
