Mann all this 92 gassing is making me sick, not only were they playing a slower game than what's happening today, the rest of the world was absolute garbage at the time.

I'm not tryna say that dudes weren't good, but it's just like inflation, they money aint the same. The skills don't translate with time. Cats that think 92 could beat this year be the same cats thinking chamberlain could score 100 if he was playing in today's league :skip:

Right, nowadays most teams have at least 2 players that are in the NBA. The current team is playing against NBA-level talent damn near.

A Rubio-Navarro-Rudy-Pau-Ibaka Spain squad with Calderon, Marc Gasol, and Claver coming off the bench might be a playoff team.

And dont forget about them handles! nikkas didn't see people dribble without using two hands until 1998. Steve Francis and Rafer Alston were so dominant they got bored and just said "Nah, we dont feel like playing in the NBA no more"
Isaiah Thomas is on record as saying if he could dribble better he thinks he would have been on the Dream Team

yall acting like there wasn't nba players back in 92 on the other teams. Sabonis, Vlade Divac, Toni Kukoc > Varejao and Nene. They struggled against these d list bigs today. what would they do against the 92 bigs

Sabonis was already past his prime in '92. I'd take the Gasols and Ibaka over those three (circa '92).

Its the exact opposite actually. The game was faster back then than it is now. Teams averaged 96 PPG this past season, they averaged 105 PPG 20 years ago. Just be quiet man, it's obvious that you don't know what you're talking about. Just hush.

There's better defense now too.

The game wasn't faster. They just called more fouls back then and the defensive rotations weren't as focused as they are now.

I disagree. I say that the reason scoring has dipped compared to 20 years ago is because offenses were better back then, not because defenses are better now. Not only are there few real centers in the league today, there's no hand checking. The game was also more physical back then compared to now.

Nope. They barely called more fouls back then and really the margin should be wider seeing as how they actually had real centers and power forwards that played in the post. The game was a lot more physical back then. You breathe on these cats nowadays and its a foul. Normal every-game routine "hard fouls" from back in the day are flagrant fouls now. The fact is that the game was faster back then, that's not an opinion. They averaged more possessions per game, took more shots, and shot at a higher percentage.
