:rudy: @ the 92 dream team only beating argentina 86-80.

You can take any player on the current Argentina starting 5, and they would've been the best non-American player at those '92 Olympics. It was like Div. 2 status back then in Europe and South America.

basically, toni kukoc was the biggest non american talent playing in the olympics when the dream team was playing. Ginobili would shyt on that dude 5x over by himself...

People seem to forget that the rest of the world been using professionals, it wasn't until 92 that the USA decided to use their pros. It amazes me the level of "pro" outside of the US.

Imma just be honest here, why anyone thinks the 92 team could hang with today's league is beyond me. It's damn near a different sport compared to then, not to mention the way cats handles are today.
This is such a ridiculous statement that I've seen repeated over and over again even by "professional" sports talkers.

Kobe Bryant entered the league in 96 same with Ray Ray AI and Steve Nash, KG in 95, Grant Hill in 94, Shaq in 93.Were those guys playing a "different sport" in their first couple of years?

Shaq, KG and AI blew people away with their athleticism in the 90s but none of them were unstoppable except for Shaq...and those same Dream Teamers from 92 could all hang with him. Its the younger players that turned Shaq into the "MDE"...
