That 4.6 was probably a 4.4 his first couple years in the league after being a full time athlete. Hell Lebron said he ran a 4.6 in 2013 just playing around. Cleveland Lebron was a lot more explosive.

It never really works like that though.

These high school 40 times are usually hand timed so that 4.6 he ran in high school could have been a 4.7-4.8 if it was measured with a laser. Maybe even a 4.9

So if the latter were his real times he'd be working his way up to a 4.6

CelebratedLastGeese-size_restricted.gif

The fxck is a midget DB doin with that :mjlol:

And John Lucas is 5'11, basically the average DB height :merchant:

Bron would have been a monster in the NFL though. That Ohio football scene must be respected.

TE is literally the only position that fits an average NBA player well (specifically a well-built forward), because height is so important while speed and strength are only secondarily so. You can't take a couple NBA players who switched to TE and then talk like that extends to the rest of the field.

Exactly. A lot of NFL teams don't even have quality tight ends. If it were that easy to plug in failed basketball players, there'd be a lot more of it.
No one brings up Mo Alie-Cox when they talk about TEs excelling in the NFL, they only point to the outliers.

Y'all judging a high schooler on NFL legend status y'all dudes hate bron for no reason
17 years in the league look what he did and that 4.6 would've improved over time with the right coach. His mentality is for basketball it would've changed had it been football. I'm not even a bron stan but the hate is fukking disgusting. Imagine red zone bron

The idea that LeBron was only running a 4.9. :russ:

I agree that hand-timed isn't reliable. But considering his incredible speed on the court (and the fact that tall runners usually look better over 40 yards than over 25 yards), I think it's almost certain that he was at least a 4.7 guy and that's without even training for it. Come on now, people were literally calling him the fastest player in the NBA baseline-to-baseline. That's why I said earlier that I think with training he would have bee aiming at a true 4.5. The posters saying 4.4 probably reaching though.

I know what you saying but that 4.6 matters when you getting chipped by the Julius Peppers of the world, jammed at the line and the Kam Chancellors hawking you with a cover corner, no matter how tall he is. The reason why the tall jumpers like Calvin were so good was because they had the speed to breakaway without giving up their height advantage. Waiting on a 4.6 runner to get through all that off a vertical release is a sack waiting to happen. That's Gronk speed and Gronk isn't used in the vertical game really because of that. He'll be slants, digs and flats with that speed and it's hard to take advantage of that height/jumping with those routes. The occasional posts and fades he could blow a possession up though, but those aren't coming as often as people are running with a 4.6. Thats why Plax wasn't a #1 receiver. Can't use him as often because he was too slow. The possession would be over most times.
Gronk is a 4.7, talking bullshyt thinking LeBron ain't significantly faster than fukking Gronk. :mjlol:

You know who else is a 4.7 though? Anquan Boldin. :francis:

Larry Fitzgerald was a 4.6 guy. Dez Bryant and Antonio Brown were around 4.5.

LeBron coming in around 4.5-4.6 would have been right in the range of plenty of tall elite WRs, except that he is MUCH taller than any of them on top of that. His speed woulda been just fine to play WR or TE at an elite level. You talking all this shyt about the DE chipping him and Kam (another 4.7 guy) hawking him....what happens when you put him out wide and he's just on an island against some 5'11" cover corner?

He chose the right sport.

He probably would have been retired if he stuck with football

Plus he has way more endorsements as a NBA player

“Taller slower version of Randy Moss”

I don’t think he’d be able to create separation with Richard Sherman or Revis. Let alone Josh Norman
His height, size, strength and vertically alone would make up for his lack of creating separation. He'd be a menace for DB's just be being so freakin massive and athletic. LeBron is strong as hell. On the field, he'd be a tough cover for most DB's.

What would LeBron's pass-catching skills be like? :patrice:

If he had those Troy Williamson/Stephen Hill/Nelson Agholor hands :scusthov: :scusthov: :scusthov:
