jr smith was more like starks
tim is like a wilder version of jamal crawford

Naw cause JR is simply retarded and half assed everything. Starks kept that fire going at all times. He may shoot you out the game, but he was gonna bring it every night. Plus, Starks didn't take the dumb ass shots I've seen JR attempt over the years. He was just super streaky, but you believed that next one was going in....except Game 7

Dude will have a wide open dribble midrange dribble pull up and just dribble around aimlessly at the middle of the floor. He’ll be in a position to push the break and he’ll slow it down. His tendency to back rim shots let’s you know he’s aiming.

It was only the first game he looks much bigger and his ball handling is improved, he's put in the time but it starts mentally with him. He's a premier defender. I have him, Dejounte Murray, and Lonzo Ball winning All-Defensive teams for years to come. But we took him number 9 and we're going to need more from him offensively.
His team first attitude ain’t completely on him, he’s a part of a team and dudes need to pass. We got too many chucks on this team, dudes used to shyt on melo for it but a lot of young guys getting passes. The warriors and spurs system is so good because they play team ball, sure people will get there’s but they’re also looking for others. KD a bytch but even he said the system is free flowing and it’s to the benefit of the team.

Secondly, Frank’s defense is amazing already in year 2 imagine a few more out. Be honest how many average defenders we got? Not many, however Frank, Baker and Lance the only dudes that go all out on defense maybe KP too I can’t remember been a minute since I seen dude play. Then look at the teams defense rating with Frank on and off the court, he’s doing fine. The point I’m making is his defense already on point and his offense game ain’t nothing to write off. We chose him at 7 and it’s working damn fine so far, out of that draft class only 2 dudes really have showed out; Mitchell and Taytum. Everyone else has been quiet.

I get that but you still have to be aggressive. KD playing on a team with aggressive players that move the ball. The Spurs were the same way they move the ball with a purpose. If he were more aggressive the team would benefit and he would open up his game. His defense is superb we know this, what we need him to do is to use his skill and physical profile on offense, be aggressive. He needs to push off rebounds and turnovers. The teams will give him the midrange dribble pull-up he needs to take that shot with confidence. Clyde got at him because of that B.S. yesterday, it needs to stop.

Nah, last year draft was amazing. It's a pretty deep class.

Lol nope. He is inconsistent. A flash here or there of his offensive potential is meaningless. He hasn't proven anything. Other than the fact that the other guards don't respect his ability to insert himself into the offense. Can he actually score 10 points in an NBA game on a consistent basis?
I hate when y'all make a statement and can't stick to the statement when it gets challenged. You can grow offensively and be inconsistent. You can grow offensively and not be "proven.". You can grow offensively and score less than 10 ppg. It's all a part of growing. During Summer League we SAW the growth when he was using his size to create offense... something he didn't do at all last season. During the preseason we saw the growth when he decided to get aggressive offensively. Last night we saw the growth when he used a dribble move to penetrate with the left and finish with his right in (light) traffic. He's showing growth. The hope is that that growth continues.

One move? Lol

How many moves we see from Trier?

Who's hoping and who's really trying to grow?

The starting pg was his to lose..and he lost it. We still have 81 games to go, so maybe he can get that back. But I don't see Fiz trusting him at point if Frank isn't willing to keep defenses honest.

If I was guarding him I wouldn't pay him no mind. Why bother, he don't want it anyway.

Fam, he “lost the starting pg job” and got the starting small forward job. What are we doing here? I watched the game, where were the opportunities where Frank did nothing? Is he supposed to say fukk the offense and gun? We need MORE of that? For what? He took open threes, he attacked off the dribble when it was there and he took what the defense gave him. He went 2-7. 2 makes and a free throw and that’s your 10 pts.

He’s the best pg on the team (meaning, the offense is a lot more sound with him at the helm). I think he proved that and we all saw it. I think the coaching staff also recognizes that playing Frank off ball is better for the team and the collection of players we have. It’s easier for the rotation to start Trey because of how awful he looks on the floor with Trier, a guy we’re all high on off the bench.

Stick to your own argument otherwise we got nothing to talk about.

The move was basic, between the legs. Taurean Prince playing half assed, disinterested flat footed defense ran up to him with no rim protector back in what to that point was a 22 point blow out. :russell:
So what you're saying is, the defense slept on him and he made the defense pay by scoring...which was something he didn't do much of last year. Right?

I don't think that was the easiest of finishes. Mudiay would have bricked that lay-in for sure

For Frank, I understand both sides, but he wasn't drafted to be a take what the defense gives him. He was drafted as the PG, someone to orchestrate the offense, once again, not someone to simply manage the offense, so he should be more aggressive. If he has the tools, he should be looking to put his stamp on the game whether in the PG or in the 3. He did lose the PG, and it doesn't look like he'll get that back.

I've seen this Frank thing play out a million times...From Mardy Collins to Balkman, to Frye, to Gallo, to Fields, to damn Anthony Randolph:scust:

People keep coming up with excuses why these guys didn't do this or they're eventually going to do that..meanwhile there's red flags that an objective observer can easily point out.

I don't have a final take on Frank yet, but I I'm not into cats with potential. Been there done that. Either he's the real deal or not.

And just for the record I will gladly eat crow if he proves to be a..you know what? I'm not even sure what are we using as a bar of success for Frank?

Is it 12.5 pts, 6.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 2 steals, keeping the offense flowing and above avg to great defense?

Based on what I'm seeing I will sign up for that.
