KP was NBA ready/wasn't a project? :mjlol:

every single scouting report on him said he wasn't supposed to get any type of real minutes or be able to make any sort of an impact until maybe his 2nd or 3rd year when he filled out. That's the epitome of a project.

what he did as a rookie exceeded expectations by a mile.

You obviously don't watch the Knicks breh. Stein would've been a perfect fit, and he's NBA ready. This Porzingis kid is a project. You don't waste your star player's prime years by drafting projects. You bring in cats that can contribute right away.
@seemorecizzy this post represents how people viewed KP.

You even dapped it.

This is no shade at Nap. Just showing how he was viewed.

frank is debatable

but KP wasn't nba ready breh:dwillhuh:

projects dont play like this in their first season

No. He wasn't.

Unknown Euroleague player with questionable body frame does not equal NBA ready.

Particularly seein how he was comin from overseas, he was viewed as a project. He just greatly exceeded expectations. Rare occurrence, but it happens. Luckily it happened for us

how he was viewed and what he was are two different things
i definitely thought he was a project because thats what phil said he was and i had no idea who he was (this was a small time period, when i actually thought he knew what he was doing)
but after a few games, it was clear he was nba ready

he had a whole offseason and is still doin the same shyt against low level compeition. its fair to criticize.
Idk who you're arguing with. Literally every poster in here said they weren't happy with how Frank played... Including me. No one's saying he shouldn't be criticized... We're saying it's too early to antagonize his selection

i think we just have different expectations of what a project is
no biggie
i define project by how a player plays during the season,
I don't base it off what scouts say a player is gonna be before the season starts

a project (to me atleast) is a player who is drafted for how hes gonna play 2 or 3 years after the fact. he is usually drafted off potential and what he can be in the future.
KP was nba ready from day 1, he was not a project
being injury prone doesnt mean your not a nba level talent

frank was not drafted as a project, but he is turning into one.

not true
anytime frank is criticized some people in here get offended, theres tons of posters who deflect to his defense, and talk about his age like that's an excuse.
it isnt to me:yeshrug:
if a coach gotta tell you to be aggressive thats already a problem:yeshrug:

he shoulda been bodying trae all game

and if he did, i woulda been in here praising him:yeshrug:

but he didn't so i ain't:yeshrug:, lets treat all our players the same, no favourites:yeshrug:

Then you don't know what a project is. KP was drafted as a project. Mikal Bridges was not.

Also the offseason isn’t over yet, we’re not even midway. I didn’t realize that till someone mentioned it yesterday. If dude has been working it’s only been 2 months and 2 weeks since the Knick season ended, that’s a lot of time but not much when you factor in breaking formed habits and the coaching search and staff fill wasn’t complete till very recently. Let’s give the coaching staff time to do what they paid for.

so is KP still a project right now?
i need clarification lol
KP was not treated like a project in any sense of the word
he started right away.
scouts and "experts" said he was a project, they are wrong all the time
