Some of y’all casuals are slow. KP NEVER wanted to be here. He was the one who DEMANDED to be traded. You want the Knicks to let him walk out for nothing? :dahell:

You beleive the Knicks spin that if they didn’t trade him he would refuse to play or that he wouldn’t take the QO for 158 mill coming off that injury :comeon:

He’s a 23 year old with star potential you don’t panic and trade him for pennies on the dollar. He wasn’t gonna holdout you let him play and maybe the relationship gets better and he stays players change their minds in this league all the time. or at the very least you get his value back up

If a jawn came out and told your circle that you gave her crabs...would you be quiet as fukk and not deny it if she was bullshytting?

I have YET to see this nikka KP and/or his brother deny ANY of the allegations made by the Knicks FO. As a matter of fact, the idea that Scott Perry would co-sign a bold face lie such as that one is ridiculous.

You're telling me that you DON'T believe Knicks on this? :patrice:

When have the Knicks deserved the benefit of the doubt in anything?

Even if he says these things my point is there was no way he was gonna hold out or not take the QO coming off of an acl tear.

Players have demanded trades before and their organization kept them and didn’t panick and trade them right away.

The Knicks had their biggest asset in a generation and sold him at his lowest.

IF someone told you two years ago we would trade KP and this is what we’d get back you’d vomit in your mouth.

Also, at this point, I would trade DSJ or Frank and one of the Dallas picks for D'Lo to the Warriors.

That's because I'm not a smart exec.

I actually understand, as @storyteller and others have stated, that the FO is strategically accomplishing a bunch of goals with their current Free Agency signings - Develop youth patiently, sign young guys and see how they fit into a restructured culture and prepare for being players in the next impactful Free Agency.

I understand your point.

I believe they deserve the benefit of the doubt because of the way they've handled the media and players since Scott Perry has taken the helm.

They deserve the benefit of the doubt because Jim Dolan, when he's not involved, has been a non-factor in the respectability of the Rangers - We finally have a similar situation.

They deserve the benefit of the doubt because of how they were able to accomplish getting rid of Timmy and C. Lee to give them flexibility. They did not panic and give away the farm, or offer the farm, for A. Davis.

They made a respectable decision in not leveraging the future on paying 35m for a benched Durant who may or may not come back and earn the rest of his max contract.

We didn't whiff on KD meaning we didn't offer him what he wanted and still got played.

This current front office has not given me a real reason to doubt them. When did they say they would definitely get top free agents? They have maintained a focus on the rebuild. What they are doing has been in line with that.

KP's camp floated the idea that he might take the QO and leave the Knicks a good while back before he got traded. I remember because I believed KP at the time; I thought his camp was crazy enough to take the QO, and Phil's tenure gave KP all the justification he needed. I think the rumors came about around the time Kyrie was trying to force his way out of Cleveland, and it seemed like a thinly veiled threat to the Knicks, "trade for Kyrie, or find a way to improve this team quick, or I will likely leave". So knowing that, I don't think the KP rumors are just some pr spin by the Knicks, KP was probably ready to take that QO despite being injured. The Knicks couldn't afford to not get anything for KP, they had to trade him. The Knicks are really paying the cost for Phil Jackson's bs right now...

This.

And people seem to not understand that the biggest blow to this attempt at "rebranding the Knicks as a competent and professional organization" would have been a drama filled, media fueled PR war between the Knicks and KP's camp. Brehs are claiming we sold KP at his lowest value as if they didn't already know that the Titanic had already hit the iceberg. A sinking Titanic is worth more than a sunk titanic; and Scott Perry sold a sinking Titanic.

Had he waited until this offseason, we'd have been killed.

Nikkas is honestly defeated bruh. All we can do now is look forward to the next draft and hope for another top 5 pick.

With all due respect; I think this is absolutely the wrong way to look at it.

As stated before, Zion has been drafted already - there isn't another Zion in the next 10 drafts, breh.

We need to be the next Nets and build a competent and respectful culture and draft well wherever we fall.

I can not imagine looking forward to tanking for a top 5 pick for the next 4 years.

I'd rather be rooting for my team to win games and enjoying their efforts.

KD & Kyrie going to the Nets will also hurt the Knicks when it comes to fandom. The Knicks are probably going to lose a generation of fans.

I'm going to be 20 in 12 days and while I'm a Knicks fan and some of my friends also are. A lot of my other friends and other young people are NOT Knicks fans.

A lot of young people cheer for the individual player more than the team. Now that KD & Kyrie are Nets, the Nets will gain a whole bunch of fans from young New Yorkers.

They don't care that the Knicks have been here since 1946. They don't care that the Knicks play at MSG. All they care about is that the Knicks haven't won sh!t since Nixon's presidency, the Knicks suck and the Knicks don't have KD & Kyrie...so why cheer for the bummy Knicks?

I can't blame them to be honest. I'm still a Knicks fan till I die but until the Knicks are a consistently good team...I'm going to essentially be a neutral basketball fan. I'll check in to see what the Knicks are doing and I will NEVER cheer for the Nets but I'm not going to be actively investing in this team until they become consistently good. I hope that RJ becomes a star but outside of him...I just feel like this: :yeshrug:

Nah lol :pachaha:

I'm just very knowledgeable about Knicks history and I've being watching the NBA for 14 years (since the 2005-06 season).

Also, people have always said that I act older than my age.

My preference would have been one of Randle/Portis and one of Bullock/Ellington...but I understand all of the signings. Is Dot's option picked up? We're adding a lot of wings, kept Zo and it's looking like a log jam forming.
So expect the players we need to be getting experience and minutes not be getting those:francis:
