The choice now is just try for being a treadmill with the hopes that Barrett or Knox or a combination thereof has the juice with whoever we sign this off-season (which might still be Durant which would be peak Knicks to not let the Lakers 1 up us in the dysfunction game and give a stupid contract to a broken player by ourselves) or continue to tank. That's really it.:francis:

Like I said, bleak.

This Durant thing is literally a deathlbow to the franchise. Don’t try to spin any positive bs

We were in position to get arguably the best player in the league and another star or two tell me when is that opportunity ever gonna happen again???

So now we either sign second tier guys and become a treadmill team or keep rebuilding around young players who don’t look anything close to future great players.

Either way we’re fukked

If y'all were gonna be extra careful with Porzingis and not offer him a fully guaranteed max, keep that same energy with KD off an Achilles

Knicks are so pot committed that at this point that might be their only choice to sign Durant and pray

The other options aren’t any better

At this point tanking might just be better tbh :francis: Really, I'd rather gamble with tanking and hitting on 1-2 guys than hoping we effectively get a miracle that a guy comes back from THE career altering/ending injury anywhere near what he used to be.

Really though I feel so awful for KD.

He'd have been PERFECT here. King of NYC, the man who SAVED THE KNICKS. He'd never have to buy anything in the city ever again for the rest of his life, he could live just off the residuals of the thousands of endorsements for 10 lifetimes.

Now all that's gone. :wow: I hope he can come back, but I really do not feel comfortable gambling on an achillies on a 32 year old.

Not even close. Roy had no cartilage dating back to college. Hawks passed up on him due to that. The fact that he was able to play as long as he did is amazing.

That blazers team was a low-key problem. Remember his farewell game against Dallas :wow:

He made his decision to play. We don’t owe him shyt. Let him resign with Golden State for the full super max. They can afford to take the risk, we can’t with our history.

Unless he signs the same deal cousins signed with us is the only way I would consider it.

Breh nothing was ever promised just like hoping this Zion shyt was magically going to happen. This franchise is doomed for fukkery despite being worth billions. Being RJ aboard and build (as best as possible) around him and don’t waste 5 years of his young career in the process.

So much left to be decided after the draft next week and when the free agency fukkery begins. Durant is a GSW problem now so that’s a whole thing out of the equation.
