If they get superstars, you sure about that? As they stand right now, they are irrelevant but will they be if they land superstars.

I grew up a Knicks fan.

Same here. I watched the HBO documentary "Ghosts of Flatbush" on the old Brooklyn Dodgers and was fascinated by the relationship between the team and the borough. I remember how hyped the borough was when the Brooklyn Cyclones started playing in Coney Island. When they were playing in their class level equivalent of the championship, there was talk of having a parade for them if they won. Unfortunately 9/11 happened and they just canceled the rest of the championship.

When the Nets came to Brooklyn, I will admit to buying a Brooklyn cap and t-shirt on some borough representation, but I never even thought about supporting the Nets. Even down here, I was at Walmart, and another relocated Brooklynite saw me and said "You from Brooklyn, son?" (LOL that's how I knew he was a NYer) We chopped it up for a minute and he told me that he had some Brooklyn gear but he was Knicks all day.

If the Nets get KD and Kyrie, throw a max D'Lo's way and use the rest of the cap to absorb salaries. I doubt Dlo wants to leave NY, so I think the Knicks would be front runners to sign him.I All of this could be a smokescreen because the KD to NY chatter got too loud, who knows, but it aint the end of the world if they really do go to Brooklyn. Aint got nothing against the Nets so ill wish em luck, and keep rooting for the Knicks

Breh was an all star and still has room to grow, and a max for Dlo is about 28mil a year. Doesnt seem that bad to me based on his potential and current production.

Ya'll made some good points. I am from an one sport city. I just can't relate but the vibe I get is its the Knicks and the Nets are minor leagues. It's not like Giants/Jets or Yanks/Mets where they have a lot of fans either way

The Knicks will always mean more, but what the Nets are tryna do is get that next generation of NY fans who don’t feel like being Knicks fans only because their dad roots for them. They want that fan who only knows the Knicks as being garbage and can’t reminisce on the good old days. There is where the Nets can make headway. A lot of youngins would switch up if the Nets got KD or Kyrie and won it all.
