It's interesting that Oscar Goodman, the lawyer for the real Nicky Santaro (Tony Spilotro), and his wife Carolyn both became mayors of Las Vegas. Not saying the mob still has influence there, but it's fascinating.

I've spoken with people in their 70s lived in Las Vegas during those times. They said the mob still runs things. They're just in positions of power. It's not like they're out in the open, teaching people lessons at the sports book.

Massive layoffs and pay cuts likely coming to state and local governments

They asked for it or else they wouldn’t have received it. You saw how bad people criticized them to the point that they decided to give it back. City budgets are going to be decimated and the government won’t enough funds to help make up the losses. There’s no other choice but to open things back up. If not, everybody will be out of a job when it’s all said and done.
