It’s mind boggling that people are trying to justify it.

It has to be mad uncomfortable ducking and dodging the landlord knowing that you are living in their space for free or not trying to pay anything at all.
Like someone else said, the bill will eventually become due. Rent payments didnt up and vanish just because the property owner can’t evict right now. It just accrues and will end up being owed when the eviction freeze ends. If you can’t pay, you’re getting the fukk out. Those 6 months of rent you think you skipped out on don’t just go away. It’ll be due, and if you don’t get on a payment plan it’s the streets for you

So what is your solution to the problem then? A lot of those tenants are not going to be able to catch up on rent and will eventually get evicted it’s a matter of when. Those eviction papers are going to eventually make it to the tenant. If the current landlord don’t kick out the tenants, then the banks eventually will when they take over the property.

You’re also dealing with potential situations now where the landlord is harassing and could potentially threaten with bodily harm to tenants if they don’t get out.

Where in the fukking contract did they say anything about a PANDEMIC? This is a once-in-a-century social crisis, and you taking it out on broke tenants? :what:

You never have smoke for the banks or government officials, cause you know THEY are wrong for allowing this to happen. But you chose to pick on broke tenants instead.

And that eviction will decimate your credit going forward and definitely have you homeless when you eventually get evicted. People fighting the police to prevent eviction summons will omit work for so long until those papers reach the tenant.

Nikka I have been harping for months in threads about how the government has fukked over the people :mjlol:

Pull up my posts and you will see that shyt for yourself. I have mentioned specifically in this thread about how they will eventually have to bailout the landlords or the banks will come calling for a bailout.

We are in this position because of the government. Who denies this? It’s also the reason folks advocate to not shut business down etc. because ultimately it leads to no one having rent money, and then these types of situations. Some people think you can shut down business and the rent is magically paid I guess. Your rent you agreed to pay to live in a residence has to be paid, whether you are in work, out of work, pandemic, no pandemic. That lease doesn’t just become void. If you cannot pay, after months and months of free stay, it eventually will be time to up and leave. That’s just the way it is

depends on the lease/rent agreement. this LandLord might be with the shyts :ld:

In the US in most states the renters have rights over the landlords. I have 3 houses and I'm 1/3 owner of a 16 unit apt building but no matter what that was hustling backwords. The woman is a single mom and the courts are going to rule in her favor should she decide to go down that road. With that said this is a microcosm of a much larger problem in America right now that due to the incompetence of our current President and Congress as a whole during the pandemic.

The kicking the can down the road that they have been doing is only making things worse. Not once have I heard a remedy for landlords mentioned eventhough it’s exactly what they will have to do.

The people in power clearly dont care. They want to see us suffer and fight with each other. Keeps the attention off of them. Meanwhile the truly wealthy are enjoying record breaking profits off our misery, and a lot of the competition to companies like amazon and walmart are going under thanks to the lockdowns. You couldnt paint a better scenario for Bezos than 2020.

Nancy Pelosi has a net worth of over 100 million dollars. McConnell is up there too.

IMO, every single last person in this country with no job and lord forbid no home due to this pandemic, should be planning on spending the holidays in the front lawns of Pelosi, McConnel etc. Form a wall, dont let anyone enter or leave until we get answers and solutions. Why the hell are these politicians getting full salary and enjoying weeks of vacation when the country is falling apart???

I ran a business grossing 60k+ take home and i was expanding. Working 2-3 days a week. Had a background as a chef before that. Im out of work. Now im managing a small finance operation for 15 an hour :martin:

Its not the landlords or your neighbors fault, our so called leadership failed us. They need to be held responsible

:mjlol:Whole lot of Landlord ass nikkas in this thread. One paycheck gone or mishap, and you'll be the tenant. Capitalistic nature of this country conditioned y'all think like you're rich. when you have more in common in the homeless across the street than any billionaire.

Do I feel sorry for small time landlord who are "struggling", sure. But way less than people who have lost their jobs and actually struggling to pay rent. These people need the compassion than that y'all are giving landlords.

Mention both sides are to blame for this situation on here and cats will come calling you MAGA and Trump supporters. The banks don’t care as they will get their money in full regardless. The government won’t have a choice in the matter if they come calling as they won’t allow them to fail.

That’s why I have always had the belief as they should have solved the stimulus situation months ago so they could focus on more pressing issues at hand.

I advocated for months to keep places of business open, and to let folks work so they can stay above water since the government left them high and dry. People on here argued against me. Called me an a$$hole. Said you have to shut everything down. Said you Can’t keep businesses open it’s a pandemic. So what do you expect to be the end result? Folks with no rent money, and folks standing in food lines, obviously. Which leads to them ultimately being on the streets. My housing is paid. My fridge is full. I was speaking for those who were being closed down by these governors who don’t abide by the same rules as the common folk without any help or safety net to compensate for their income losses. I was called an a$$hole for it. So I simply do not give a flying fukk anymore, society that wants shutdowns also wants free rent. That ain’t how it works. Fend for your fukking selves

It’s also why I have been saying that states better be trying to find a way to generate income as the government is not going to help cover all COVID-19 losses. They have made that very clear.
