Landlords need to be on the front lines about minimum wage increases. People sit around talking about tenants need to pay up, then they sit up there saying minimum wage people shouldn't get paid more. nikka who you think you're renting to? Do you want your money or not?

:mjlol:Whole lot of Landlord ass nikkas in this thread. One paycheck gone or mishap, and you'll be the tenant. Capitalistic nature of this country conditioned y'all think like you're rich. when you have more in common in the homeless across the street than any billionaire.

Do I feel sorry for small time landlord who are "struggling", sure. But way less than people who have lost their jobs and actually struggling to pay rent. These people need the compassion than that y'all are giving landlords.

The bolded is literally 100% the reason why folks are siding with scumbag landlords :laff: They think that they want to be in that position where they can exploit people's basic need for shelter

If you had a friend or someone living with you essentially for free while you were stuck footing all the bills and everything that comes along with owning the place, how would you feel about it? Serious question.

People get pissed when someone borrows money while ducking and dodging when it comes time to pay it back, yet they expect landlords to essentially do the same for free. They can say whatever they want about someone else's money until the shoe is on the other foot and their bread is at stake.

Exactly. The landlord took a major risk investing into properties that they cannot afford. Point, Blank, Period.

The landlord needs to contact the bank or advocate for a mortgage freeze. Evicting them does nothing for the landlord. If we are in the middle of a pandemic, what if no one moves into your property? You still taking an L.

I’m siding with the landlord. They didn’t get a bailout. He shouldn’t have taken her door off but she can go stay with family. It would be different if she was going to be homeless. Plus there are programs out her in St. Louis who will help pay your rent and if she only owes 500 a month between assistance and unemployment she should be good. Also y’all need to stop assuming the landlord owes a mortgage, this might be their sole income and normally they are within their right to evict. Keep that same energy with all this mortgagors behind on their mortgage.

It doesn't justify someone essentially living and consuming a home or space for free.

A lot of people would be lying out of their teeth if they said that they were cool with a friend or random stranger shacking up with them for free while they are stuck footing the people. Especially when most people bytch and complain about their own kids and/or SO not doing their fair share around the house and being a bum.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Yep, landlord are scumbags and super exploitative

Landlords can be scumbags but they aren’t the main scumbags. The main scumbags are the hipsters who pay triple the price to move into a building or tiny home which gives landlords the green light to raise rent.

Landlords need clients willing to pay to raise the rent. If they didn’t have people paying the rent they wouldn’t increase them

Taking off the door is flat out wrong. He will pay for that.

But I do understand the frustration of some landlords. My parents own 6 rental properties. One of them is a big 5 bedroom house. 12 years ago my uncle came to my dad and asked if they could let a friend of his move in because they really wanted their son to be in a better school district because he plays football and they want to get him noticed.

My parents agreed. They moved in and stayed for 12 years. My parents never raised their rent. The son got a scholarship and then got drafted into the NFL last year. Instead of buying his parents a house he buys them all Chargers and Hellcats. They then decide to stop paying rent 4 months ago.

No reason given. My parents are calling and calling but no return calls. My dad goes by the house and the son who got drafted into the nfl stepped to my dad on some disrespectful shyt when my dad asked about the rent. Low key was trying to punk him and flexed on him.

my dad was like. Go ahead  Hit me. Make my day financially

Breh was :hubie:

So I move back to Pa two months ago and he tells me what’s going on. I immediately contact a landlord lawyer. Get them together and get him on the case. Get the ball started on a eviction. The tenants call acting all shocked. They have a drive way full of brand new cars. 200 grand worth of cars at a rental property. Son is in the nfl. They just said fukk you to my parents and decided they were not paying rent no more. Now they are acting like we are so wrong for evicting them. :laff:

I know an African lady in Staten Island who got their house taken over by some hood rats. The women they rented the apartment to got a man to beat her up. They even got another hood dude who pushes a Maserati to park up and secure the house.

last time I spoke with her she said she’s escaping to Canada. Even worse the police are anti immigrant and got on her instead of the dead beat tenants.

This is where I think NY needs to recheck their gun laws. I mean gun law or not I would have bought guns and started shooting shyt.

The issue with cases like this is that the selfishness of both people are at play.

Girl doesn’t want to move back home and landlord decides to take her door off.

2 wrongs here

And the bank will win in the end as they will get their money in full regardless. The optics would look better in bailing out the landlords so they can pay the banks rather than the banks coming to the government with their hands out.
