Fair or not nothing else will matter for Lamar until he wins a superbowl. When you’re a great QB with MVP’s on your resume that’s just how it’s going to be.

I know the old heads remember Manning being the best QB in the league but looked at as a perennial playoff choker until he beat the Bears.

Dudes was in the Shotgun with 4 wide on 3rd and 1:aicmon:
I think this was genuinely the worst coached game in ravens history. I don’t think there’s ever been a worse game by an offensive or defensive coordinator for them ever, and the ravens have hired some truly horrid names to be their coordinators over the past two decades. I don’t recall seeing Jim Fassel, Dean pees, Greg Mattison, Marc Trestman, Jim Caldwell, Cam Cameron or Marty Mornenwhig have a game this bad given all the circumstances, and none of those guys were ever good enough to warrant even a second season on the job. 2 designed runs for Lamar. 6 runs between hill and Edwards and just 3 over the final 50 minutes. I don’t recall seeing them attempt to throw over the middle of the field all game. I don’t recall seeing more than 3-4 screen passes tops and I don’t think I saw any drag routes or slant routes all game.

I’m no stranger to seeing this team abandon its strengths and identity on offense in big moments, nor am I surprised when they attack the strengths of an opposing defense as opposed to its weaknesses (in fact it’s happened in basically every playoff loss under Harbaugh except maybe the 2008 AFC title game and maybe the 2014 divisional round), but this was the worst case yet. This was the coaching equivalent of Grady Little leaving Pedro Martinez in the game at 115 pitches in the 8th inning and 2 men in scoring position to face Jorge Posada with a 2 run lead stretched out over an entire game. There’s just no way you can bring Monken and Harbaugh back after this. Lamar saved Harbaugh from being fired at least once already. It’s now 5 years overdue in the Lamar era. Either promote McDonald from DC to head coach or call up Bill Belichick and tell him “we’ve got a blank check for you to coach this team if you want”

Yeah, he just needs to break through one time. Sad this was a wasted opportunity.

The definition of legacy includes long-lasting and the past. It can be added to in the moment but his legacy won’t be determined until there is time and space in his career.

This is the :skip: brain I mentioned earlier.
That should be how it’s measured but we had fools on here saying this game was a legacy game for 2x MVP, 2x SB MVP, 2x SB champ, six straight AFCCG appearances, now most playoff game victories for a QB by age 30, 4 SB appearances in 6 years as an NFL starter Patrick Mahomes. shyt is crazy what gets posted for opinions on this site

TYRONE GA!
Lamar was bad yesterday. missed throws turned the ball over, why is the bar so low for this nikka :wtf:
no excuses this year.

he didn't do enough to win.

didn't give Josh a pass and Lamar can't get one either after yesterday. Still MVP, still top 5 QB, but you gotta deliver. It's year 6. He's not a rookie, he's on his second contract.

Whats worse is that if you switched the qbs, baltimore would have smoked the chiefs.

There were oppurtunities that were missed by Lamar the entire game
This right here.

These are the plays you need to make vs the type of game the Chiefs' defense played:

Here the Ravens looked like they shutdown most of the field on initial reads. Mahomes buys time to let his targets get open.

See #0 who goes flying at him later in the play? That's the zone that opens up so Mahomes goes to Kelce there. It's a lot like playing point guard: they send the double, something is open. Mind you dude made that play by going back into the pocket for protection to put more obstacles impeding the extra defender entering the play.

Now I don't want to say you're expected to do that, but that's the difference between someone like Mahomes and maybe 1 or 2 other QB's who are capable of doing that, and the question is out whether or not they can do it in a Championship game. There's just a difference these types of QB's do: it's more comfortability maneuvering in-and-out of the pocket rather than all-out scrambling.

The Ravens need more offensive weapons. Mahomes legacy has been built in part due to the presence of Travis Kelce, who is in the conversation as greatest tight end ever. For one of his Super Bowls he had Tyreek Hill too. Brock Purdy is not mentioned with the greats but guess what he's going to the Super Bowl. He has McCaffrey, Debo, and Ayuk.

Who does Lamar have? :jbhmm:

him not running the ball as much as he should have is a travesty. Brock Purdy rushed more than him last night and that was huge for us. Ravens not running the rock period as much as they should have is a joke.

Don't care how good Spags is as a D Coordinator. A Running QB is a nightmare to defend. Stop this trying to play from the pocket shyt when it ain't there. nikka, you trying to get to the Super Bowl. fukk the cute shyt.

We shyt on Dak, We shyt on Allen last week, it's Lamar's turn for not doing enough to win when he easily could have. NO EXCUSES

This is the other reason is such a terrible offense to abandon the running game like they do every postseason. The best receiver he’s ever had is either Hollywood brown or a rookie this year. They’re calling 45+ passes and have just 3 guys who had even 450 receiving yards on the year and one of them was coming off a 2 month injury absence. Same as 2019 when they called 60+ passes in a playoff game when only 2 guys had even 350 receiving yards all season.
