Not picking up simple yards was a pure headache. The chiefs blitz could’ve easily been shut down by if he read the receivers being completely open in front of the secondary all the time. Idk if it was the coaching, his reading, ego, whatever, it was just weird to see consistently over the whole game

This is the nfl though, where your whole career is judged by very few instances. So naturally I’ll understand the criticism. Doesn’t necessarily mean that he isn’t great, also still a young buck not everyone can move like a veteran off the bat like Mahomes

Do you think the Lions defense was accounting for the threat of Purdy running with the ball like the Chiefs accounted for Jackson?

THink about that before you make a post like this.

That's not a defense of Jackson's play today, but to make posters thing beyond black and white points.

These coaches get to the playoffs and convince themselves that he can throw the ball like the other elite passers in NFL history when his own personal history says otherwise. Not to mention that despite obvious improvements, their ball catchers leave some to be desired.

They should be running it 30+ times a game and Lamar should be passing 20-25 times. That’s it. Literally look at how the Steelers played with young Ben 2 decades ago when they won their first ring. Lamar should be KILLING nikkas with play action and runs after rolling out the pocket.

I agree. Everybody at the bar including Chiefs fans were like why isn't he running? Bruh would have killed the Chiefs running that game. It was like the Chiefs weren't even expecting him to run. It was a really weird game.

Yeah, you would have thought he would have run after seeing what Allen did the week before.

Hell the way he played vs us you heard Maga said that they expected Lamar to play one way and he played the complete opposite. That’s why he dominated our defense that day

Spags shut down the 07 Patriots offense for Christs sakes. A running QB is a defensive coordinator’s worst nightmare

Yes, I know Purdy is not a runner, I watched him for 3-4 years at Iowa St, every week.

My point is Purdy saw running lanes and took off when advantageous. Watching Lamar, the lanes were there for him to pickvup, at the least several yrds, but he purposely stood there trying to make things happen with his arm. No reason for so many 3 and outs like that when plays were there

They ran the ball like 15 times the entire game.

A Kyle Shanahan type would be amazing for Lamar . It'd be that 2012 RG3 year on steroids.

both Lamar and Monken choked trying to prove the critics wrong, this is why the Ravens need a REAL HEAD COACH and not a cheerleader, how do you see your QB and OC getting cooked all night and don’t get in that headset and tell them to RUN THE DAMN FOOTBALL??? John Harbaugh is so unserious and his need to coddle Lamar and prop him as a ghetto superhero is HURTING the Ravens, Lamar needs a coach who will get on him and refuse to accept imperfection

Are we no longer capable of understanding basic football or context? Yea Lamar wasn't good but the bigger issue was Zay Flowers imploding mentally on two idiotic plays (same drive) and a terrible offensive game plan. Ravens abandoned their identity by refusing to run the ball early, and STILL were within moments of cutting that to a 17-14 game if not for two of the dumbest decisions I've ever seen from an NFL player.

Same coach whose offense called 60+ passing plays while the running backs carried the ball 9 times in the 2019 playoff loss vs Tennessee (to be fair their defense got pummeled that night). Same coach who never adjusted to New England calling 0 rushing plays in the second half in the 2014 divisional round and blew a pair of 14 point leads. Same coach who rushed the kicking unit on the field to avoid a delay of game penalty instead of using his final timeout with 30 seconds left in the conference championship game. Same coach who lost all his must win week 16-17 games with the playoffs at stake in 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017. The ravens major issues predate Lamar by a decade. Go check their record under Harbaugh against Belichick, Manning, Tomlin, and Andy Reid. It’s like watching the twins against the Yankees or the Yankees in the playoffs when they’re not facing the twins.

The same excuse that posters are trying to use now they didn't want to hear last week when it came to Josh Allen and the Bills.

Like Rex Ryan said on Get Up a few minutes ago, it's a lot of people that owe Greg Roman an apology.
