No it's not new 🤣 you're old enough to have been around at the height of the Manning/Brady shyt 20 years ago and Manning winning MVPs and dominating regular seasons but losing in the playoffs was held against him. Not having the team success of Brady was held against him...

I can appreciate you saying Lamar doesn't need a ring to you. But to me, while he absolutely earned those MVPs, he's entered a space where we KNOW he's awesome in the regular season. So he's getting judged solely by how he performs in the playoffs. We all know it's obvious he needs his whole team to play well to win it all. But HE needs to be as great in the playoffs, as he is in the regular season, and he just hasn't been that...
Foorball fans are the ultimate hypocrites. They say winning is a team thing,.thsn point to stats and accolades, as if they are attained by their lonesome. Technically, every stat is a team stat. Doesnt matter how good a pass you throw, if the receiver drops it..doesnt matter how good a route you run,.if the QB throws an awful pass. So and so forth...

If chanpionships dont matter, whats the point of watching sports? To watch dudes collect stats? The basis of any competition is to find out who wins and or loses.
It’s not that championships don’t matter. They don’t factor into the regular season. That’s why they have regular season and Super Bowl MVPs separate. If they got rid of the regular season awards, should Eli have won the MVP the years the Giants went all the way?

I dont unnderstand your point..when has not having success in the postseason, cost someone an MVP?? Peyton Manning threw 4 ints and lost to the Pats in 03 AFC champ game. Didnt stop him from winning his first MVP. 2004, put a measly 3 pts in the Divisional Playoffs. Still won MVP. Brady had a devastating home loss to the NYJ in the 2010 Divisional Playoffs, a month after beating them by 40, still won MVP. Lamar had one of the biggest chokejobs in history, last year, still won MVP. Aaron Rodgers couldnt score 11 pts in the Divisional Playoffs to beat SF, still won MVP. Etc...

Lamar isnt getting the pass..what are you talking about? Lamar is beloved for the most part. Yall need to stop this curmudgeon act like he has been ostracized like McNabb was .
Yo, Tucker missed 2 kicks vs the Steelers in a game where the Ravens turned the ball over 3 times and the first thing on all the media shows was how Lamar played himself out of the MVP race.

These other guys aren't getting that heat. Josh Allen put up bad efforts against the Ravens, Texans and Pats last week but the discourse isn't the same.

Of course Lamar ain't getting the pass

The media is overreactionary. It happens. Lamar is an admired athlete..this is not 1984, its 2024. Lamar has two MVPs, one unanimously. Who votes on those awards? The media. He is not hated..

I never said that. I’m simply saying not having post season success SHOULDN’T factor into regular season awards.

And when has it? Aaron Rodgers went 15-1 and lost to the NYG in the Divisional Playoffs. Guess what?. He still won MVP. He got 5 turnovers from his defense vs Seattle in the 2014 NFC championship game. Couldnt put it away. He still won MVP. Youre saying it shouldnt factor in, well where is the evidence that it has or does?

KC last year was a poor run defense and a great pass defense while the ravens were the best running team in the league and they called 8 designed runs all game :scusthov:
Their numbers were skewed by how bad they were at the beginning of the year. By the end of the year they had cleaned it up the run defense by a lot.

Yes, they did. Thats why Kyle Shanahan was shook to continuously run it in the SB.

Again, I never said it did. At the end of the day, the media votes for these awards, and a lot of people on TV have been saying things like “Lamar has to get it done in the playoffs” as if they’re already finding a reason not to vote for him. Many have said the MVP was Josh’s 2-3 weeks ago.

He was still regarded as the best QB between him and Brady for several years. Brady got labeled with the "game manager" tag for a minute. Peyton also had some historically bad performances against Beli's defense.

Lamar gets to 45 TDs passing it's unanimous at that point. He has TD-Int ratio that got Rodgers the MVP
