I have an even better factoid for you. Im not sure about the entirety of the NFL's history, but in the last 40 years,.only Brady(2010) and Jackson(2019) have won the MVP, in a full season without a WR or TE who reached 1000 yards..Elway did in 87, but it was strike shortened. Only other who may have done it, is Favre in 96. I know Brooks had over a G in 95, but if my memory is correct, he got hurt in 96. Freeman took over in 97. Im assuming he had 1K, gonna hit up PFR to confirm
Regardless of Olsen going over 1,000 yards, I still think that '15 Panthers TE/WR group is one of the worst for a MVP QB.

We're watching Joe Burrow having a nuclear year but he's gonna miss the playoffs because his defense is trash but the media isn't holding his lack of team success against him. Lamar ain't getting the pass these other guys are getting.

Media picks and chooses when to ignore bad coaching, injuries to key teammates, mistakes by other players etc... it's whatever fits the narrative.

*looks at the game plan the ravens coaches cooked up on offense last year for the afc title game being ignored by the media*
The thing is the Chiefs are very good against the run and if you've followed Gus Edwards year with the Chargers; he ain't that nice. So people have this misconception that a run game featuring Edwards and Hill were better than they were. I can see where the gameplan came from. The issue in the AFCCG was the turnovers. 2 red zone turnovers from Lamar and Zay cost them the game.

KC last year was a poor run defense and a great pass defense while the ravens were the best running team in the league and they called 8 designed runs all game :scusthov:

You know what, you're right. I still contend that Edwards/Hill weren't the answer but situational awareness wise, you gotta run more.

I'm a ravens fan but they always seem to do some goofy shyt strategically at times.

Why are idiots having NBA like conversations in here? Lamar doesn't need to win a ring to validate regular season MVPs. Football is a total team sport. There was a decade where people thought Dan Marino might be the best QB they've ever seen. How many Super Bowls did he win?

This is all new, garbage discourse.... engagement farming etc. It's not the NBA. Lamar doesn't play defense. He doesn't play special teams. He doesn't block. He doesn't run routes. He doesn't draw up the plays.
No it's not new 🤣 you're old enough to have been around at the height of the Manning/Brady shyt 20 years ago and Manning winning MVPs and dominating regular seasons but losing in the playoffs was held against him. Not having the team success of Brady was held against him...

I can appreciate you saying Lamar doesn't need a ring to you. But to me, while he absolutely earned those MVPs, he's entered a space where we KNOW he's awesome in the regular season. So he's getting judged solely by how he performs in the playoffs. We all know it's obvious he needs his whole team to play well to win it all. But HE needs to be as great in the playoffs, as he is in the regular season, and he just hasn't been that...

That’s the thing about the run game a lot of times can lead to negative yards or zero…you just have to seriously commit to it.

Edwards/Hill - It would be difficult to stay committed to running the ball with those players.

The pass game was working. Flowers fumbled at the 1 yard line. The triple coveraged pass to Likely is a pass interference. Every season Lamar adds something new to his game. Part of the new attributes is not leaving it up to the refs to their jobs. Trying to bait hoping the refs is gonna call a flag ain’t it.
