But at the status quo, the next two years look pretty :flabbbynsick:

A Dwight trade would either give them their next superstar or it would allow them to start the rebuilding process at least a year earlier.

Kobe isn't likely to retire, he's also not tradeable. Makes more sense to get your money's worth by getting the most out of his talent than just giving up and rebuilding now.

The Cap situation isn't so bad that it'll hurt the team long term. It just hurts this current squad because they can't get quality role players. Blake and Barnes were actually considered good signing but they've under performed (though Barnes has had injury issues).

It's pretty obvious the Lakers want to rebuild on the fly and stay competitive. That's why the CP3 deal was so brilliant.

wish we could do a gasol for john wall deal

we need a good young PG (that can shoot)

dwill would be my number #1 wish
devin harris is an upgrade over sessions
nash (altho older) is still someone who would get kobes respect
john wall, young and talented, id take him too

Wouldn't getting Dwight do that? That's what I mean. If people want to keep Pau/Bynum/Kobe together, the team really can't get better. Even if Dwight ended up bouncing, it would allow them to get lottery picks and free agents faster.

i agree,

worst case, we have tons of free cap room and MOST players would love to play/build a legacy of their own with the lakers (once KB24 is gone, its no ones team until the next superstar arrives)

either we get dwight, he loves it here, and re-signs, or he bounces and we have tons of cap room

either way we rid ourselves of 2 under achieving big men who just cant play when it counts

that being said D12's prima donna attitude last season definitely soured me on him some what, although he's still a big upgrade over bynum (IMHO), bynum is young but shows no inner maturity to ever be the player he could be

For ONE season...

Dwight is NOT worth Pau and Bynum. No way they should do such a lopsided trade for a one season rental for a dude who changes his mind every other day.

The numbers don't even make sense in that situation. Orlando would have to send someone else along with Dwight and their contracts are worse than ours.

Some people are even talking about amnestying Pau. I can understand saying no to the trade because another contract would be even worse than Pau or Bynum's, but I'm more :what: at the people that are like "If Dwight leaves, we'll have lost Pau and Bynum for nothing!" as if that's a disaster. They're not winning with those guys anyway. Plus, if they were ever under the cap, they'd be a desirable landing spot for free agents. They never would have got Shaq if they were constructed the way they are now.

I agree breh, we definately aint winning shyt, might as well go with bean and dwight + role players for a year, and if dwight leave, we can def have way more than enough cap to bring new nikkas in.

simple logic :yeshrug:

Dwight, Pau, and Bynum are three of the few elite big men in the entire league.

Lets say the Lakers do what you suggest. Who the hell are the supposed to get in free agency to fill out their front court?

The best big man available in the 2014 draft :yeshrug:

:shaq2:

I'd be more open to you initial suggestion if it wasn't Pau AND Bynum. Bynum straight up or Pau and pieces is a fair trade for a potential one year rental for Dwight.

They Lakers can improve significantly by trading one of them (just a matter of picking the right deal). Letting both of them go for a one year rental is unnecessary. Like I said Bynum's contract aint even a bad one.

Never understood fellow Lakers fans infatuation with Kyle Lowry. I understand Dragic(to a degree) because he balled up a few years ago in the offs but giving up a major piece to get either Dragic or Lowry is outright idiotic when you can re sign Sessions.

Dragic/Lowry/Sessions are all pretty much on the same tier. If the Lakers can't get D Will(or another 1st tier PG) then I'm fine with Sessions for now. 20 games with one practice and no training camp with team...I'll wait until next season(if Sessions resigns) before I fully decide if he's right for the team.

I dont know why dudes in here keep actin like Gasol is still some kind of elite big man? Have yall watched the playoffs the last 2 years at all? He's a fukkin bum at this point. We need to do whatever it takes to get this p*ssy's contract off the books. Look, I give Gasol respect in the fact that we prob wouldnt have won those last 2 Championships without him. But these last 2 years dude completely disappeared in the playoffs. Get him the fukk out of there while he still has any value left

Probably because Deron Williams is a free agent and there's really no point to an offer they can't make.

I agree on Beas. Keep Hill. All I want is a 2015 first round pick.

*checks when Kobe's deal expires*

Yeah, 2015 first unprotected :leostare:

The Beasley talk is pretty legit. He'll be there.

Teams can still do sign-and-trades.
