First off, accent/language Thanks to the British most Nigerians know English but certain parts of the country have their own language.
second, traditions. On Christmas, are you telling me you wouldn’t be geeked out or ask someone questions about this:
that’s the Ekpe Masquerade. Saw one at a Nigerian Convention they had here in Atlanta. They’re harmless and nobody is suppose to know who’s inside.
Now Ekpo
My mom told me only men were allowed to see them & would chase women down.
TLDR/My Point: there’s too much culture and tradition for you to keep it cool.
I wonder if I would be able to blend in outta curiosity as a Black American.
Like would someone that looks like Will Smith but wears what they wear and keep his mouth shut be convincing enough to think he was a native
Prolly cause you were wearing your scarf in the middle of the summer.nah they know
anywhere I went people right away knew I wasn't from there
That slum is a neighborhood, how is that over 60% of the population?Fun fact: Over 60% of the population in Lagos live in hand made shanty town squatter slums like this
Before anyone comes in here touting Nigerian inequality *ahem* I mean, excellence
tons of Black vloggers you could have posten in lagos
That's very simplistic take. By your logic, Mexico should look like a "first world" country better than Belgium, simply because of GDP.Lagos is a mess man. you would think that having one of the highest gdp cities in Africa(top 3), it would actually look like a 1st world city and match it's gdp, but nope, it's just a more populated Accra. Nigerian and Ghanaian major cities are not greatly structure besides Abuja, unlike the francophone african cities. Just compare Abidjan and Dakar city grids compared to the other two.
still, you would think the country with the biggest economy will have one city that could match it's middle income status. That's very simplistic take. By your logic, Mexico should look like a "first world" country better than Belgium, simply because of GDP.
Also, Dakar has only a million people, what it's excuse for not looking tidy?
