A health Victor makes them good, but we got the guys to match up defensively against Indiana.

alrite.....Indiana is the absolute last type of team I would want to play in the playoffs.

Could be to showcase Dragic as trade bait...
Still a horrible idea. Developing Winslow has to be the higher priority. Teams know what Dragić has to offer as a player already. Plenty of tape from last year. As of the moment this is a team with a ceiling between 43-48 wins in all likelihood unless someone takes a massive leap, so they need to do everything possible to find out if someone on the team can take said leap.

Like I was saying in another thread, based on offseason workouts alone Justise Winslow had already won 2 MVPs:russ:
I know homie has vastly improved his shooting three last 2 years but let's hold off on the shooting related nicknames until we see some consistency

I wanna see more of his game but i told you all i have a good feeling about this kid just as i did J-Rich when we picked him.

Looking at his highlights if i was to compare him to people on the roster he reminds me of Derrick Jones Junior but with better handles or a more aggressive Bustise with a bit lesser handles but more hops. Physically he reminds me of Kevin Durant but that's where that comparison ends. Some say more of a quick Tayshon Prince ala Trevor Ariza type.

However i've read some scouting reports on him and they arent too high on him being a rotation player in his rookie seaosn. Some scouts mostly see him as a 3&D type player due to his 6’9.5 height with a 7’2 wingspan to go along with his quick twitch/speed on his 210-pound frame.

Dragic starting over Winslow makes no sense to me

Developing Winslow has to be the higher priority

Teams know what Dragic has to offer + he's an expiring contract. No need to really show him off to anyone. The way i look at it is the team promised Buttler that they would be aggressive in trying to WIN NOW and bring him help. If they see Dragic working better at PG in practice than Winslow, developping Winslow has to take a backseat to the win-now mindset to attract another star (Beal)
My ideal starting 5

Winslow
Herro
Butler
Adebayo
Leonard
I see the coaching staff starting with

PG - Dragic
SG - Waiters
SF - Butler
PF - Adebayo
C - Olynyk

But ideally, unless anyone get traded i wouldnt mind Winslow and Hero starting at PG and SG respectively. Not quite sold on Leonard starting at Center. I wanna see how he rebounds first. I know Olynyk aint know Dennis Rodman on the boards but at least we know he has some grimy in him and will fight and box-out down low. (no homo)

I also believe Waiters will have a good year and they wanna showcase him to trade him. With that contract they need him to look good for another team to bite.

Reminds me of a great value version of Paul George with a little less explosiveness

hmm... might be but i seem to remember PG had that wet J from the start, didnt he? Okpala's pull-up J still needs a lot of work according to scouts. His floater is a killer tho. And scouts like him as a spot up 3 guy which i hope he doesnt settle into that role.

According to most scouts he's got a GREAT first step and i see it in the highlights but you're right overall he's a bit slow footed. Kinda reminds you of Toni Kukoc back in the day: slow-footed mofo but he'll burn you with that quick first step.

I love that he knows how to take advantage of his size, tho. Seen him rise and shoot above smaller defenders and even post-up a lot in his highlights. Something i always wished Winslow would try but he simply doesnt have the hops and it's not his game. :manny:
Too bad to do that in the NBA Okpala will need some time to bulk up a bit cause these are grown men he'll be playing against at this level
