It's something that needs to be done, but in dealing with the capital approval process in my job, I see how funds get lost on projects. Government needs to fight harder and pay more attention to the shyt they are approving. Just asking questions in my current role, no matter how dumb has saved costly mistakes and time. I imagine the government is:

• Not paying super close attention to the funds they are approving and how they are spent nor how they are tracking on timing and spend...
• Getting kickbacks or pocketing some of the funds themselves.

I don't think government should be run like a business, but this is one of those circumstances that I think people in government should be paid more AND if they aren't getting the job done right, fire they asses...too many people in government from what I see can fukk up repeatedly and still keep their jobs.

What you said also compliments what I said in a way. When you have this type of stuff running rampant, perhaps that money would have better spent on BBB until these types of issues get rectified which would precipitate a smoother application of the legislation. Whether that was politically possible or not is another story but I envision hearing horror stories about the infrastructure bill and lack of progress for years to come

I'm not buying into anti-China propaganda. My very first post in this thread and subsequent posts after are dumping on how inefficient the US is at building shyt. However, I'm not shytting on the US to big up China.

The difference between you and several other posters in here is, I'm calling out both the US AND China. We can trade videos and articles all day. My position has always been, it's not either or...both are fukked up.

Here's my final point on this matter, because this thread isn't even about China versus the US, I didn't even bring China up, and I'm trying not to get misconstrued like a Captain America over here...

You asked why are dozens of countries clamoring to have infrastructure projects built by China; because the vast majority of those countries are undeveloped so they will take what they can get. China isn't some altruistic Bob the Builder. The intention of these projects is not to have those countries buildup into potential strategic competitor's (the US made that mistake) or for China to even profit from them, but to become a net importer of resources that China does not have locally. China's plan is basically an updated Marshall Plan for the developing world which in of itself is genius and a more digestible route to global hegemony, but it's not working as well as the videos you highlighted are saying it is because China is not as efficient outside of their country as you think they are.
