China would have in done in half a year.
Yeah, Chinese bridges are basically next level:

shyt even got AI to detect if you're falling asleep driving on the bridge, at which point the security will pull you over.

It's funny when people say buildings around China have bad construction. Some of those skyscrapers have been going for 40+ years.

If ya'll don't know, Downtown LA is a mess.

Someone compared it to Baltimore once and straight up it looks like The Wire in some areas.

This is a way to pretty up "polish a turd" whereas that money could have actually been spent on doing something for the people living on the streets.
Do tourists go downtown when visiting LA? With the beaches and all the neighborhoods around the city, I've rarely set out to go to the city when I've been there. I remember driving through the Art District to check it out before driving to Vegas one time I was there, and while I was looking for a park, I saw a homeless man walking with his dikk out pissing at the same time.

I just said, "yeah, it's time to go after seeing that".

What do people do in downtown LA if they're visiting from out of town?

Downtown is pretty much what's advertised only because it has a skyline really.

That thing you saw passing through the art district is 100% common in downtown.

Pretty much people get duped into going to downtown it's basically only if you want a cheap place to stay or need to go there for work.

What you really want is West LA, Inglewood, Culver City, Santa Monica, etc. That said, homeless population only growing there too.

End of the day, LA is pretty much like any other major city. If you want nightlife, Hollywood nightclubs. Other than that it's food, the beaches (Santa Monica Pier and the and shopping/people watching at places like The Grove or some of the museums.

Legitimate question: where is US high speed rail?

China, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan and Europe have amazing HSR systems. America is wealthier than them.

I'm going to say a lot of this has to do with how contractors for infrastructure projects with cities and state governments be milking the shyt out of the contracts for years.

I know in Illinois for example, the expressways have always had some construction working going on and I've been living here since I was 5 years old. It's like there is no rush to finish the shyt because then they won't have that consistent work/income coming in. I imagine this is how it is all over the country, I'm guessing tho.
Philly is a repeat offender of this shyt. Every fukking month they are fixing shyt on highways and that same month MORE POTHOLES POP UP.

Little Tokyo-- they got restaurants galore, a nice bookstore if you into manga/light novels, a dope bakery that seems to stay crowded whenever I'm there, and a Japanese American history museum. They have a festival all of August.

Chinatown-- cultural hotspot. Food for me, mainly.

The Broad-- contemporary art museum.

Grand Central Market-- hella food. You can always catch some nice women here around 12pm-3pm or so.

Alamo Drafthouse-- dope movie theater.

Arts District.

Plenty of stuff to do there.
