A 14.5 mile light rail route in the Twin Cities is going to end up costing 2.75 billion. Mind you this is more than US Bank stadium (where the Vikings play)

A bridge over the Mobile Bay is going to cost over $2 billy. That was the old price from 3 years ago though. Now it might be above $3 billy.

I know Cali is notoriously bad at getting anything built, but this country is fukked if it cost that much and took that long to do an infrastructure project.
I'm going to say a lot of this has to do with how contractors for infrastructure projects with cities and state governments be milking the shyt out of the contracts for years.

I know in Illinois for example, the expressways have always had some construction working going on and I've been living here since I was 5 years old. It's like there is no rush to finish the shyt because then they won't have that consistent work/income coming in. I imagine this is how it is all over the country, I'm guessing tho.

There's collapses here as well:

We can go down the rabbit hole if you want. Every country has infrastructure disasters, but no other developing or developed country has them like China right out the gate. Every example you posted the buildings you posted either weren't complete or weren't in use yet.

Oh yeah. I lived in Chicago for the last 6 years...I have no idea why those 294 ramps have taken the entirety of the time to complete that I've been here...and still don't look anywhere near complete other than job security.

How come no Chinese built projects have collapsed in other countries??

Because the projects in other countries aren't being finished...

Y'all gotta do better than this...US is fukked up, but China isn't this Shangri-la that some of y'all are purporting it to be. It's not either or...they both have major issues.
