i got a huge backlog of games especially on the Playstation 3 there's be stuff to do. honestly i think some of you are complaining about this just for the sake of complaining. if the internet goes down for a couple days in the several years you own a console and can't play it those days are virtually nothing in comparison to the thousands of days it was up.
lets say it has a life span of 1800 days which is about 5 years if in that span it's down 5% of the time that's 90 days. you're still left with 1710 days of up time but you're basically saying those 90 days of the potential for them to happen mean more than the 1710 days.
for a good chunk of us our consoles are on our wifi networks and connect to PSN and Xbox live upon boot. we already play them as if they're always online right now. that's why it doesn't bother me because that's how it is for me now.
Pretty much.
People are complaining about something that will only happen sparingly. People keep bringing up people who don't have internet who live in rural areas. No one in this thread lives where only dial-up is available.
I think it's dumb but it's not like it's the end of MS or the world if it's always online.

This guy has long been a prick.
if they come out with an always online console and you don't like it don't buy it. i'm not gonna deprive myself of games i wanna play out of a principal that doesn't even really effect me or because a service could go down. that's all hypothetical. i'd rather be playing my game of choice and if it goes down it goes down.what if the competitor's console will play games 100% of the time?
there's just no reason for it. I paid $60 for your 6hr game. why are you treating me like a thief?

DRM treats all legitimate customers as thieves. pirates typically defeat it on the first day to first week and anybody that wants to pirate will.
so you are ok with the cameras monitoring who comes in and out of the room too?
