Sony clear as day won this generation, hands down. Anybody can see that.

Sony more or less defacto won when Microsoft's incompetence in video games forced them to start putting (soon to be all) their major franchises on PlayStation and Switch. Sony's leadership as of late has been just as incompetent though.

Seems like Microsoft just beat them to the punch. Sony fast tracking games to be released on PC to actually sell games. Microsoft just had a bigger bag and did it in a better way

Phil spencer in 2020

It’s been the same shyt from jump.

I can post some quotes from nutella before that talking about how they wanted xbox on everything just like office or their other subscriptions.

This has always been the direction they’ve been heading.

It’s been a slow burn as they figure out what works, but the ultimate goal since nutella OK’d the new generation of xbox has been to be the number one publisher in the world.

What’s funny is you stans talk about a pivot but smooth act stupid when it comes to playstation.

Their statement on May 30th of last year

Not even a week later

:wow:

Now a sony stan such as yourself would claim sony was some liars and have conceded to console war to nintendo.

But of course you’re narratives change based on who you want to stan :wow:
Why did they originally cancel Starfield on PlayStation only to later turn around and say Starfield may end up on PlayStation (spoiler: it will be there) in the end? When Microsoft fought to get the merger approved they were called out on the cancelation of PS5 Starfield. It wasn't going to happen then but suddenly now it can happen?

This was not the plan.

I am just pointing on for the part about "care" also library isn't safe on xbox. If/when they pull the plug on xbox hardware I don't have access to my xbox purchases if it's not play anywhere.
Your current xbox doesn’t just stop working if they decide not to make a console in 2035

I won't have access to games like witcher, cyberpunk, elden ring, and a lot of popular titles purchased on xbox because it's not play anywhere. If Phil was smart he would've made all of their games play anywhere to allow them to pivot and strengthen windows store. At the moment there's a strong possibility of many xbox users losing most of their library
Only on xbox is games being perpetually supported by future hardware even an expectation.

Nintendo clearly don’t give a fukk and will make you pay for a new version of games to play them on new hardware.

Sony makes you pay for upgrades and already dont offer backwards compatibility to older generations.

Neither of them even offer things like play anywhere or smart delivery.

There’s no actual reason to believe xbox won’t continue to be a leader in this space. In fact that’s what they are banking on being their argument for people buying xbox hardware and software into the future.

Starfield, the next major Xbox console-exclusive from the makers of Skyrim and Fallout, was originally planned to release on PlayStation 5, according to the Federal Trade Commission.

Documents recently made public as part of the FTC's injunction against Microsoft's planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard state that prior to Microsoft's $7.5 billion acquisition of ZeniMax, both Starfield and Redfall were planned to release on rival Sony's PS5 console.

Straight from the horses' mouth Phil Spencer
Destin: "Can you solidify that Starfield is staying put for the time being?"
Spencer: "No."

So the FTC in a court of law and Phil Spencer are now cac tweets? Why the fukk would you cancel development on a game you're later talking about may come out on that platform? You planned it like that? That's stupid.

“The FTC believes” :usure:

The cac tweets told you the FTC’s speculation was fact.

In reality it’s just speculation.

Microsoft purchased bethesda in 2020.

Starfield didn’t release until 2023

That early in development, specific platforms don’t even matter.

There was nothing to “cancel” at that point. They just concentrated on the xbox version and made further decisions as the data came to them.

You know “case by case” as they always said they would
