Here is me almost 10 years ago telling yall where all of this was going.
As always, it just takes you goofies a while to catch up to me, then you all follow suit.
The only losers are xbox users that built an ecosystem there. I always own all consoles, but xbox was my main driver due to game sharing. I won't repurchase games, but Phil and company screwed over millions of users
I don't think Microsoft as a whole are huge losers in this because they can elimate r&d and other stuff needed to create a console. They can make a lot of revenue in actual units sold rather than recurring subs. Plus, this path can allow good deals for third party like ninja gaiden where they foot the bill and launch game on gamepass, but will launch on multiple platforms. That potentially could be good for the industry if they're still making deals with third parties like that .
On the contrary, they're still big losers with weak cloud infastrucutre because xcloud is ass compared to the others. Also, I don't see windows store growing due to people being burned which results in gamepass not being able to grow. I won't be shocked if gamepass is dead in 5 years because you're better off getting units sold for COD, Bethesda, Foorza Horizon, Halo, Gears, and other games rather than hoping they remained sub. WIth consoles shrinking I don't see how gamepass survives with bulk of memebers being console users. I sense an exodus happening and the console install base has shrunk every gen after the XB1. I don't see the next xbox console moving 25m+ units. I don't think the PC hybrid rumors make any sense because there's no money for Microsoft going that route.
Sony didn't lose because they're going to gain more users. I think only worry is if they raise prices and kill creativity with first party games due to lack of competition. They could theoretically become valve and apple where they're big players, but not creating games

Xbox consoles still play all the games it has in the past, and Xbox games and hardware still have the best terms as far as consumer rights.
Only people that “lost” with regard to xbox are people who wanted/needed console wars ammo to make them feel good about their box
