Deck13 Officially Offers Kojima Job As Head of Game Design

If you’re a passionate gamer, you probably already know that revered Game Designer Hideo Kojima has parted ways with Konami Entertainment, almost 30 years after joining the company.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be his final work with Konami and after that, the Japanese company has already confirmed to be auditioning new staff for the next Metal Gear title.
Gamers all over the globe have been trying to understand the reasons behind this decision, but everyone is being tight-lipped at the moment. Perhaps some time in the future we’ll know what really happened, but in the meantime there’s the issue of what Kojima will do next. Earlier today, German company Deck13 Interactive has sent a tweet to Kojima’s official account saying that they have an open position as Head of Game Design; originally it seemed more like a joke, but just a few minutes ago we received a press release from the company and it looks like they’re very serious about this proposal.
Creative Director Jan Klose said:
We currently have an open position at Deck13 that would perfectly fit Mr. Kojima’s skills, so he will be delighted to hear about the job details. Mr. Kojima can start right away, all the equipment he needs is already in place.
The press release concludes saying that Deck13 is now “eagerly awaiting Mr. Kojima’s final decision and will in the meantime hold all talks with current candidates”. Now, presently this seems a bit far-fetched, however Deck13 did produce a great game recently with Lords of the Fallen (you can read our review here, by the way).
Personally, I would be extremely interested in Lords of the Fallen 2 with Hideo Kojima as Head of Game Design. They have great tech in place and a solid foundation, meaning that he could bring his expertise in order to improve the game in key areas such as the storyline, which was my main disappointment with LotF. What do you think, should Kojima actually consider this?

Japanese Snake voice actor asks people not to cancel TPP pre-orders
As you know, at the end of last month Kojima’s name and the Kojima Productions logo were suddenly removed from the official site and promotional images, supposedly as a result of Konami’s restructuring – though a communication block is still in effect. The whole controversy even led to some people canceling their pre-orders. Now, Akio Otsuka, the Japanese voice actor for Snake, is asking people to support the game, saying that the team working on the game hasn’t changed. As translated by JunkerHQ:
“The TPP team is the same, so please don’t cancel preorders or encourage others not to buy it”
The actor said he wanted as many people as possible to enjoy the game.
At this point, Kojima and his team are hard at work finishing the game, making sure it’s perfect when it releases at the beginning of September.

Donna Burke Confirms Konami Fired Hideo Kojima From the Company

rsz_screen_shot_2014-12-21_at_183959-720x399.jpg

Publisher Konami has indeed fired Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima from the company, according to Australian singer-songwriter Donna Burke.
Burke, who performed “Heavens Divide” for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and “Sins of the Father” for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, has recently taken to Twitter to express her support for the renowned Japanese developer.
She asked fans not to boycott Kojima’s upcoming open-world stealth title “because upper management fired a genius.”

The Phantom Pain, which is Kojima’s final instalment in the franchise, is still in its development phase, as Burke added that “the game is being tested now and some bits [are being] finished off to make it [awesome].”
Yesterday, Akio Ōtsuka, the Japanese voice actor of Solid Snake and Venom Snake, also came out to support both Kojima and The Phantom Pain on Twitter—Burke originally referenced this tweet before she confirmed that Kojima was fired—in which he assured fans that the development team has not changed and, more importantly, not to cancel their pre-orders for the game.
Last month, news emerged that Kojima would be leaving Konami after the release of The Phantom Pain. It was also believed that Kojima Productions’ staff had restrictions placed on their email and internet access by Konami, while specific individuals, such as Hideo Kojima and Kenichiro Imaizumi, are now considered as ‘contractors’ for the company.

In fact, there were several earlier signs that suggested there was a growing rift between Kojima and Konami, including a new Twitter account for the Metal Gear Solid franchise being set up, Kojima Productions’ logo removed from Konami-related products, Kojima’s studio being rebranded and the trademark ‘A Hideo Kojima Game’ being removed from MGS posters.
Kojima, who joined Konami in 1986 as a ‘planner,’ finally broke his silence last month and released a joint statement with Konami that confirmed he is still “100% involved” with The Phantom Pain.
Running on Kojima Productions’ Fox Engine, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will launch worldwide on September 1st, 2015, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The PC version, on the other hand, will be released two weeks after the console launch.

Word? So they actually FIRED the goat?

They fired him:damn:if that's the case then why? Wasn't he doing the new silent hill why throw him in to the bushes? Had to be some type of internal dispute with him and Konami to just do all this fukk shyt so suddenly. I wonder what kojima is going to venture in next movies, make his own game company, or go to kickstarter.:lupe:

I'm sure the root cause has to be the fact Kojima was anxious to retire the franchise for the sake of preserving the overall quality of the storyline [Confusing as it always has been] and Konami isn't concerned with his artistic opinion. Konami sees dollars and cents and isn't going to have an employee of theirs actively putting up a road block. Just my opinion though obviously.
It sucks because in my recent memory I can't think of a series that got better when it changed hands to a different developer. Most recently would be Battlefield Hardline. The same happened with MGS Twin Snakes on the gamecube. I would :mjcry: if I saw Hideo Kojima selling games on kickstarter like the team behind Mighty No. 9 is having to do. These guys deserve better support.

Sounds like that's what he wanyed.

Seems like Konami has been pressuring him to keep making metal gear games and not fund his other dreams so he wants to move on. Now the white man is gonna pick him up.

Hopefully he bosses up and starts his own shyt though
