Updated 3/24/15Hideo Kojima Back in Latest Metal Gear Solid V Marketing
By
Steve Hannley on March 24, 2015
The rumors of Hideo Kojima and Konami parting ways hit a boiling point last week and have sense seemingly been accepted as fact. One of the main things that fueled the initial rumor was the removal of “A Hideo Kojima Game” from the box art of Metal Gear Solid V: A Phantom Pain. Perhaps the news of the death of Kojima and Konami’s relationship have been greatly exaggerated, however, as we spotted Hideo Kojima in the latest marketing for the game.
As seen in the screen capture of the trailer (which happens to revolve around the game’s limited edition watch), “A Hideo Kojima Game” is back in place above the Metal Gear Solid V logo:
While it’s possible that this trailer was produced before the alleged falling between the two, the fact that Konami scrubbed Kojima’s name from the cover art in other places so quickly yet left it here does bring up the possibility that at least something between both parties has been remedied.
Check out the trailer for reference below:

Kojima Station won’t broadcast this week

Cancelled due to "circumstances."

KojiSute_03-25-15.jpg

There will be no Kojima Station broadcast this week, the Metal Gear Solid developer announced in a notice on the program’s website.
The notice reads:
To everyone who usually watches Kojima Station, thank you. The broadcast scheduled for March 26 at 20:00 has been cancelled due to various circumstances. Nevertheless, we apologize to those looking forward to it. As for the next broadcast, we will share more information as soon as it’s decided.
The halt comes following news that Kojima Productions boss Hideo Kojima is expected to leave Konami following the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain as the result of a fallout between his studio and the company.
Kojima Station regularly broadcasts every three weeks.

Konami Releases New Statement on Hideo Kojima
168
But doesn't really tell us anything. Luke KarmaliKonami has released a statement seeking to address the ongoing confusion surrounding Hideo Kojima's position at the company.
Taking the to Japanese Metal Gear Twitter [URL='https://twitter.com/metalgear_jp']account
(via Kotaku), the company avoided addressing the the exact status of Kojima's employment while asserting the removal of his name was part of an ongoing rebranding to put Konami's name front and center.

Kojima and Konami Parting Ways After MGS 5 - IGN News

"In accordance with the recent change in production organization of all of Konami, Kojima Productions, as well as other internal production companies, has had its name, etc., changed to move into the corporate headquarters work structure," Konami stated. "The name and organization has changed, but as before, MGSV: TPP is continuing as a work from director Kojima and the existing team members.
"The social networking account has also been changed, but the new account has the same Metal Gear team members as the previous one, and is updating with the latest news. As the team members who are tweeting is unchanged, we would like your continued support and follows.
“Naturally director Kojima is playing the game, checking all the small details and giving directions to the staff as the title continues to completion. Bringing the thoughts and ideas of director Kojima in an open world game of the size of TPP is incredibly difficult, the director and the team that’s been there from the start are coming together as one as they aim to finish the game, so please give them the support they need.”

Konami Hiring For Brand New Metal Gear Series - IGN News

Pairing this with a Japanese interview from Gamespark, it seems circumstances have indeed changed with development. While Konami told the outlet Kojima was still a Konami employee, it wouldn't go into details about whether he was a contractor or full-time worker. The publisher also failed to deny Kojima Productions staff are being restricted with regards to email and internet use. It did confirm, however, that Kojima would be doing fewer interviews, which we already expected giving the sad state of Kojima Station.
Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima is expected to part ways with Konami once development on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has wrapped. The pair just recently released a joint statement confirming Kojima will see the upcoming game through to completion, and that Konami is already looking to launch a new take on the beloved stealth-action franchise.

Deck13 Officially Offers Kojima Job As Head of Game Design

If you’re a passionate gamer, you probably already know that revered Game Designer Hideo Kojima has parted ways with Konami Entertainment, almost 30 years after joining the company.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be his final work with Konami and after that, the Japanese company has already confirmed to be auditioning new staff for the next Metal Gear title.
Gamers all over the globe have been trying to understand the reasons behind this decision, but everyone is being tight-lipped at the moment. Perhaps some time in the future we’ll know what really happened, but in the meantime there’s the issue of what Kojima will do next. Earlier today, German company Deck13 Interactive has sent a tweet to Kojima’s official account saying that they have an open position as Head of Game Design; originally it seemed more like a joke, but just a few minutes ago we received a press release from the company and it looks like they’re very serious about this proposal.
Creative Director Jan Klose said:
We currently have an open position at Deck13 that would perfectly fit Mr. Kojima’s skills, so he will be delighted to hear about the job details. Mr. Kojima can start right away, all the equipment he needs is already in place.
The press release concludes saying that Deck13 is now “eagerly awaiting Mr. Kojima’s final decision and will in the meantime hold all talks with current candidates”. Now, presently this seems a bit far-fetched, however Deck13 did produce a great game recently with Lords of the Fallen (you can read our review here, by the way).
Personally, I would be extremely interested in Lords of the Fallen 2 with Hideo Kojima as Head of Game Design. They have great tech in place and a solid foundation, meaning that he could bring his expertise in order to improve the game in key areas such as the storyline, which was my main disappointment with LotF. What do you think, should Kojima actually consider this?
