Kobe's era (his prime) he played against a prime Wade, Iverson, McGrady, Carter, Pierce.:whew:

Jordan's era (his prime) played against a prime Reggie Miller, Clyde Drexler, Mitch Richmond, John Starks, and Joe Dumars:lolbron:

How did MJ stack up against Kobe's comp, since you wanna bring it up that he played against them...even though it wasnt his era:

Michael Jordan averaged 23.5 ppg on 45.1% against AI Allen Iverson vs. Michael Jordan | Basketball-Reference.com

Jordan averaged 20.5 ppg on 42.5% against T-Mac Tracy McGrady vs. Michael Jordan | Basketball-Reference.com

Jordan averaged 14.0 ppg on 39.3% against Vince Carter Vince Carter vs. Michael Jordan | Basketball-Reference.com

Jordan averaged 22,5 ppg on 42.6% against Paul Pierce Paul Pierce vs. Michael Jordan | Basketball-Reference.com

I'm just saying :shaq: them numbers are weak breh

:childplease:Kobe played against better comp and Jordan was weak against Kobe's competition.
If we talking about those 90s bulls teams, they made quick work of those teams or didn't take them seriously. If I remember correctly the 72 win bull lost twice to toronto that year. I thing Damon stoudamire broke Harpers ankle in one of those games.

In the washington years them prime star player was going at Jordan hard and he still put up Kobe like shooting averages.:troll:.............:manny:
All I know is 6'3 Sidney Moncrief won DPOY TWICE in Jordan's era.

:heh:that was Jordan's comp? lol

Do you even know who that is, have you ever seen him play?

Kobe got about 7-8 defensive 1st teams he ain't deserve.:heh:

Thats like saying Lol 6 foot Allen Iverson was a top player in the league when Kobe played. That was his comp? U seriously basing a player's skill strictly off his height? The fukk is wrong with u

Have to say Kobe faced stiffer competition at his position.

But the teams were harder to beat in the 90's because you basically had a guard dominating the BEST Era for centers the NBA had ever seen. That shyt is unheard of man.

Kobe got his 5 (3 with SHAQ)
If he gets 1 or 2 more...then obviously having D12 (best center in the league) in his corner is going to do it.

I give Kobe much credit for those 2 titles he won with Pau Gasol as his best big man...even tho he is no slouch.

I dont know why you had to make that face, its true.

Wilt, Kareem, Bellamy, Thurmond, Reed, Unseld, Hayes, Lucas were all in or around their primes in that era.

All of those guys are in the HOF, and were top 50 players.

I know the NBA likes to pretend the the league started in 1980, and I know that fans fall into that thinking as well. But the late 60s to early 70s was THE bigman era. The 90s was also a great bigman era, but that period I quoted had so many great ones.

Did you ever think they were weak at Center but had the top 2 perimeter player and GOAT defensive player on the bulls. Not that hard to beat a team with only a good center

At their specific position or just in the league in general?

At their position, I'd lean towards Kobe. League in general could go either way imo, depending on what type of player/style of play you prefer.

Either way, even with all of the qualifiers you want to throw in there, Jordan is clearly and easily a better player than Kobe.

Of course, the problem with this question is that their eras overlap, and Jordan also came back to play as a Wizard, so Jordan pretty much ended up playing against everybody Kobe played against.

Jordan played against the 80s Lakers, the 80s Celtics, the late80s-early 90s pistons, the late90s Heat, the 90s knicks, the late 90s pacers, and beat Magic, Drexler, Payton, Barkley, KJ, Malone, and Stockton for titles. this ain't a serious question.

The bolded are teams he all lost against.

He beat Magic that had HIV

The bulls were wa more stacked than the blazers, sonics and the suns. The Jazz :laff:
