GP locked up Jordan now put kobe on him:mjlol:
Glove was a better defender than Kobe, have you lost yo mind my nikka?

Even :flabbynsick: GP was a dog on defense
Y’all disrespect Kobe and exaggerate Jordan/Pippen to insane levels. :aicmon:

Kobe and MJ are about as even as any two players in the history of Basketball.
Y’all think that just cuz one dude looks exactly like the other one stylistically that they’re the same.

Like my guy here said:
No. MJ is more athletic, more explosive, creates space better, is stronger, has better shot selection, is a better finisher, and is straight up better at everything other threes.

ALL of this. Kobe is not equal to Jordan :heh:

Peak healthy Wade is a closer comp and there’s no shame in that cuz we talking about top 2 & 3 ever at the 2 spot

I’ll give you a better handle too, not that it matters. MJ was still better at creating separation to get his shot off and harder to guard.

Kobe also had better footwork, and skill

Kobe is literally the model 1 on 1 player what move could he not do?

I ignored the dude you quoted because he literally made all that shyt up.

More athletic? Maybe...the only thing I can think of to prove that is Jordan had a higher vert coming into the league. But it’s well known Kobe increased his vert drastically over the years.

More explosive? The eye test says Kobe’s first step was very comparable to Jordan’s. There is nothing to prove otherwise.

Creates space better? Kobe had far better handles and could create off the dribble in ways that Jordan couldn’t dream of.

Stronger? They were literally the same size and had the same style of play. There is nothing to suggest one was stronger than the other.

Better shot selection? They operated in the same scheme and from the same spot. They virtually took the same shots.

Better finisher? Both were all time great finishers. What makes one better than the other.

Bottom line MJ was a better player IMO but the difference between them was very small. Y’all exaggerate and make it seem like there was a huge gap between them.[/QUOTE]

Kobe never in his life had hang time or verticality on Jordan’s level, and Kobe was a great athlete himself. There’s no question who’s the superior athlete, you can look at the film and see it. This nikka could dunk from the line while cocking the ball back in 1 hand, let’s cut it out.

MJ would double/triple clutch on jump shots hanging in the air cuz he felt like it, his huge hands let him shoot & finish around the basket at a higher efficiency than Kobe. Not even gonna entertain the notion that Kobe could finish like MJ

They did operate a lot in the same areas of the court, their shot selection was not identical in the sense of timing & execution. Kobe settled for a lot of difficult ill-advised shots.

That’s why Kawhi was getting the Jordan comparisons, obviously not cuz of his athleticism or explosiveness. He picks his spot and gets his buckets efficiently

Having better footwork doesn’t matter because MJ’s footwork is still GOAT-tier while being stronger, faster, having a quicker first step, being a better shot creator, being a better mid-range shooter, being a better slasher, better finisher, and an overall better IQ.

Kobe had more counters because he wasn’t able to create space like MJ could. He modeled his game after MJ but simply couldn’t maximize his efficiency because of MJ’s straight up better physical gifts.

2003 Kobe was the most skilled player ever. There isn't a player in NBA History that can beat him in a one-on-one matchup, which is where he's most dangerous. Like Mike stans are delusional.

how you the most-skilled and cant even win a title that year as the 2nd best player on your team??

EDIT: didn't even go to the finals.

Not sure what having a worn down, injured team has to do with being the most skilled player of all-time, but carry on. You're also delusional if you think Kobe was a 2nd option on the Lakers that year.

just because he jacked up the most shots, it doesn't mean that he was the #1 option, nor the main focus of the opposing defense.

Actually, that's exactly what it means. The player who gets the most shots is the player the offense goes through. Common sense.

Early 2000s Shaq was unstoppable no doubt but I'm saying the Bulls would focus on getting it out of his hands and focus on Kobe jacking as many shots on as many ISOs as possible as they have 2 defenders in MJ and Pippen to throw at Kobe (along w/ others) while Kobe would mainly be guarding MJ

how are they going to get the ball out of shaqs hands? doublling. fine. get lit by big shot bob, fox, or fisher. like i said in other threads that version of derek fisher IN THE PLAYOFFS was WET from 3. the dude would turn into steve kerr/craig hodges in the playoffs and wouldnt miss. then you had super clutch horry. and ready when you needed him rick. people forget, rick was a 20ppg scorer on boston before he became a laker. he wasnt no run of the mill roll player either.
