Lebron still 10x the overall basketball player Melo is

Melos a great scorer like a Bernard King but does little else and also has some hollow 40 point games though the one against the Nets was not, every point counted

Those numbers are wrong. Carmelo about 20lbs heavier then that. He weighs about the same as Lebron but obviously not as muscluar. Dont confuse that with assuming that he is considerably weaker sinply because of lack of definition. Players always bring up that his power is underrated. Next game, look at :salute: and :gladbron: next to eachother and see that these two are same size actually. Durant's about 220 or so with his lanky ass.

Yea i think Lebron actually said Melo is bigger than he is. I remember hearing that KD couldnt even bench press 135b in college. That just lets you know how skilled he is. His game was never strength but he dominated the Big 12 and now the NBA just off his skill alone. :ehh:

this...and not to take anything away from Melo..it amazes me how people just say Bron is just a freak of nature but yet under-rate how skilled he is as an overall Basketball player...

When Carmelo wins a scoring title or averages 30 or more a game, then I'll call him the best scorer in the league, but until then :stopitslime:

No, Melo is a better scorer because unlike Durant he has a better post game. First of all, I doubt Durant is taking 6 shots in the post a game (not including dunks/layups), so if he only takes a couple and makes both of those, voila!, what an efficient performance.

And besides that, if we really want to be technical Melo has been better %-wise from 3 point range so you can add that to his advantage over Durant. Not to mention the fact that he turns the ball over less than Durant
Durants a tough cover because he's lanky and can get a shot over anyone, and has a good first step. Melo is a tougher cover because he has the agility, power, strength and offensive array to get a shot against anyone.

So many people associated with the nba(players, ex players , analysts etc) have said Melo is the hardest player to guard or the best scorer yet everytime people come running in here to discredit them by posting stats . So I guess @Loose knows better than them :smugbiden: if so whats the solution to stopping Melo ?

Its borderline senseless how 'Bron's scoring gets disrespected/overlooked. Hell, D-Wade's name rarely gets mentioned either when people talk about the best scorers.

I dont get it.

Your exaggerating . Bron is a great scorer but other players have more ways to score

Being harder to guard doesnt make you a better player

Example:
I'm pretty sure Iverson was harder to guard than Magic Johnson or Isiah Thomas

I know what youre saying and I agree but I think when they're saying best scorer its not scorer in the sense of scoring title though breh. Think along the lines of shaq winning the scoring title back then but we all know he isn't a scorer. Its being used as "scoring abilities". Such as Melo (along with KD and Kobe) have a pure long range pistol. Keeping them off the perimeter is the correct move except that they also have mid range and post pistols with an even higher percentage than the 3ball you are trying to keep them from taking. They have the range and if you D them on the perimeter, they are either too strong/big for most to defend or too quick for the larger defenders to stay in front of. In the post, its practically impossible to defend them regardless of the defender without help because of this. Not to mention that they have the ability and aggression to attack the basket (which Lebron has too and KD is getting). What Kobe is losing in speed to attack, his unsurpassed footwork and body control makes up for to counter Melo/Lebron's speed/size/power and KDs length.

I'm on record for years in believing that Melo, Kobe, Pierce and Dirk were the best pure scorers in the league. Dirk and Pierce fell off, then Durant 3yrs ago catapulted himself into the fray like a rogue lion that was booted from pride and came back with a black mane and bullshyt to start. :shaq:

durant's the best scorer in the league. i don't even know how it's debatable. you wanna give credit for melo for the diversity or aesthetics of his game? fine, that's one thing.

yes, melo is a great scorer but he's not better than durant.

Melo isn't the same weight as LeBron, the only SF who is in the same weight class as Bron is Artest. Bron was in the low 260s at the start of last season, he legitimately has about 20lbs-30lbs on the average SF.

And Durant is 235lbs, he came into the league at 215lbs and is clearly heavier than that today.

That's cool breh but you're saying "weight class" as if 5-10lbs is that significant enough to make a disparage between the too. You can likely be correct. I'm not saying he isn't that weight but I can almost guarantee you Melo is most definitely around the same weight. They are very visibly the same size "minus Lebrons tone". I could be wrong though :manny:

I think it's more like a 15-20lbs weight difference between them, it would explain why people bounce off LeBron when he goes into the paint, and how he actually posted up a 250lbs PF earlier in the season.

Also, muscle weighs more than fat, two people who look the same in terms of height could be vastly different weights based on how much muscle mass they have.

Just saw this on first take. He put emphasis on "the hardest to guard for me." You ask different players & you will get all kinds of different answers.

I have heard a player say Jamal Crawford was the hardest for him to guard. Obviously he is not a better player than the elites, but as a scorer I could see how someone would say that.
