Ignore that Kobe only had 13 points healthy in Game 1....and the Lakers still won.

Ignore that when Kobe only had 2 points and missed half of Game 2....the Lakers still won.

Ignore that Shaq and Reggie were by far the best players in Game 4 (36 for Shaq and 35 for Reggie on great shooting) and that Kobe was just 11-24 for 22 points before he "saved" the Lakers by hitting two jumpers when they already had the lead.

Ignore that Kobe practically lost Game 5 singlehandedly going 4-20 for just 8 points while Reggie and Jalen ran a train on him to the tune of 57 points on just 30 shots.

Ignore that Shaq had to put up a monster 42 points on 19-31 shooting to overcome Kobe's 8-27 outing in Game 6 (while Reggie and Jalen went for 54).

Kobe had ONE mediocre game that whole series and was trash in the rest. And even in the one mediocre game he still got killed by the guy he was guarding. Shaq could have won that series with any league-average guard in Kobe's place - hell, he won Game 2 with Kobe practically not there at all.

only a dumb nikka would miss he was playing with a sprained ankle most of the series

Lakers wouldn't gave even been in the finals if Kobe didn't save Shaq against Portland

:mjlol:

Kobe was clearly a sidekick in 2000 but to act like he wasn't a superstar and just went along for the ride is absolutely idiotic

The hard way meaning joining Shaq in 96 and spending 4 years building a title team. Dumbass.
That's what's confusing. That OG Lakers team was a dominant team initially. They had to grow. Which is what I think Kobe is getting at.

while Shaq was stinking it up against the real comp, you know SA, Portland & Sac

Did you watch those games back then or are you following a narrative? The West was treacherous back then & Kobe proved he was elite even as a young pup time & time again.

Shaq has never won anything without a dominant G. On the other hand....
Kobe has never won without an All Star big man. Nice try

Pau Gasol had never won a playoff game. Forget a series, a single game

Shaq averaged more rebounds than Kobe averaged points the 2000 finals yet they still won :what:

Kobe was injured a few minutes into Game 2 with a severe ankle injury. He missed the rest of that game as well as Game 3. He played in Games 4-6. When you really only play 4 games but your numbers get divided by 5 that can throw off your averages.

This is why you kids who didn't actually watch the 2000 Finals look silly. In Game 4 Kobe had a clutch performance after Shaq fouled out essentially securing the chip by going up 3-1. That was the moment most people (like me) realized Kobe was the next Jordan. He was amazing.

:francis: Kobe stans are becoming like old heads when they talk about MJ. dikkriding and making him to be a mythological individual.

If you experienced watching prime Kobe you would also mythologize him.

There's a reason all his peers WORSHIP him. No other NBA player (outside of Jordan) is held in as high regard by his peers as Kobe. That should let you know how great he really was.

This white boy always gets in his feelings about Kobe.

The most important game of that series was Game 4. Shaq fouls out. If the Pacers win that game the series is 2-2 with them at home for Game 5. In the series most defining moment, an injured young Kobe took over with a clutch performance that reminded everyone who was watching of Michael Jordan.

Keep in your feelings Nick Wright Jr. everytime black athletes worship Kobe. Cause you know damn well only cacs like you ever try to diminsh the legacy of the gawd.
