Durant could average 50ppg but if 40 of those 50 a night come from catch and shoot situations coming off screens then he still wouldn't stand a prayer against Kobe one on one.
Its Durants fault because kobe can only score in isolation situations and not in a variety of ways :stopitslime:. Durant can score in every way possible in fact he is a top of the league in post .PPP
Look at the Olympics. KD is a dead eye shooter and an athletic freak who has the ability to get to the rim. But you can't tell me he has the ability of a prime Kobe when it comes to just taking a man to school one on one. Durant is a GREAT GREAT player. But one on one requires a specific set of skills that can be masked when playing a 5 on 5 game.
Look at the Olympics durant fit in with a bunch of superstars kobe struggled, durant can fit in anywhere where as kobe marginalize the talent around him. Durant makes whoever around him better cant say the same for kobe. Durant would destroy kobe one on one height weight and wingspan will give him incredible fits.
I will continue to use the Steve Nash vs. Russell Westbrook comparison. Russ on his best day couldn't be compared to the type of point guard prime Steve Nash was. Steve Nash is a dead eye shooter who is probably the most efficient shooter in NBA history. Yet no one can say that him at his best could beat Russ at his worst in a one on one game.

This is just stupid.
One on one requires specific skills and Kobe is probably the GOAT at those skills. The only legit dude who can be compared to him in MJ. PERIOD.

Not true. He didn't have a good post up game. He corrected it after he was embarrassed by the Warriors in 07. Try putting a small defender on him now and see what happens.

Dirks career as a threat is over.

like I said before shooting %'s have nothing to do with one on one ability

come at me with clips of Durant breaking nikkas off the dribble like this

and maybe I'll take this convo seriously. Till then you'll just continue to make yourself look like a fool posting fg% as evidence about who would win a one on one game.

Just think about this. Magic has a higher career fg% than MJ. You ready to make the argument that Magic could beat MJ one on one??? :comeon:

only because Durant is damn near 7 feet. Durant at Kobe's height and he's nothing more than a company man's Jamal Crawford.

Current Kobe would have trouble with KD. Not 03 Kobe.

And Kobe without shaq, gasol, or Phil is just another Tracy mcgrady. :yeshrug:

You mean the same McGrady that had prime Yao and couldn't make it to the 2nd round. You realize prime Yao > Gasol right.

Let's play a game

Kobe with Shaq = 3 rings

Kobe with Gasol = 2 rings

what's the common denominator?

fukking fakkit.

I gotta disagree with the Gawd. I think he was at his absolute best in '06. But '03 aint a bad year either. I say this shyt all the time and nikkas think it's just blind stanning, but Kobe's offensive game in '06 was pure perfection IMO. I really don't understand how you can deny the completeness of his skill set if you are a true fan of the game.

Common denominator? 2 all star big men in their prime .

:umad: Jason Richardson, Vince Carter,Melo, Who else u wanna use? Without those three people in kobes career, he wouldn't be shyt. :umad: cause you know I'm right.

Actually when you think about it Kobe owes Vlade Divac a big thank you.

I find it interesting that when the topic of Jordan vs Kobe comes up that the excuse for Kobe not scoring more during his early days is because he had to share shots with Shaq, right? So, in the discussion of Kobe vs Durant, why is the topic of KD sharing shots with Russ not coming up, especially since Russ has the ball and decides where it goes.

Remove Russ from the equation and what does KD do? This is the same argument you dudes have used, but now in KD's case it's no longer applied.

Because KD doesn't sacrifice his game for Russ. Russ' game actually allows KD to be more efficient and Russ is actually the engine of the team. I'm struggling to find what KD would do more of without Russ. It's the fact that early on in his career Kobe wasn't given the latitude to use his full arsenal or go all out. It's not really the same thing. You can't pretend that Kobe had anywhere near the greenlight that KD had since day 1.

kobe bryant talking like a true OG vet... let em know kobe :salute:... people only hate on da gawd cause of his crazy stannish fans, because he is so much like MJ and because um.. what else.. because he fukked a crazy girl who cried rape? :whoa:

imagine if kobe had prime rodman and pippen, both working together with him, even a few years ago.. oh i'm pretty sure he'd have a 6th ring :mjpls:.. instead he had dusthead bynum, pau gasol and a crew of nobodies.. now he has an old ass PG, an older pau and a recovering center.. he never really had a great situation like jordan as far as team consistency (be real y'all). they wasted his best years :sadcam:. fukk you shaq.

When people point out that Jordan scored more often and more efficiently than Kobe, the stans point out that Kobe had better teammates and had to share more in order to win.

When people point out that Jordan WON more often and more regularly than Kobe, the stans point out that Kobe's teammates weren't as good.

Which is it?
