Maybe if you're just basing it on stats.

But if you know anything you know there were different circumstances. Kobe was the first to come out of high school as a guard. People didn't know how to deal with that. He went to a contender. He played behind an all-star SG (Eddie Jones) in his prime. He was playing with the best player in the NBA at the time (Shaq).

LeBron came into the worst team in the NBA. By this time the NBA was used to high school perimter players playing right off in the NBA. LeBron was handed the started job. He was playing 40 minutes a night from the jump and had the ball in his hands every play.

Totally different circumstances.

I believe if you put Kobe in LeBron's situation he has just as much success off the bat if not more. Kobe was ready day 1 to dominate. This idea he needed to develop is false. Go and look up his highlights as a rookie during summer league. Be looked like the Kobe we saw throughout his entire career.

If you put Kobe on the 2003 Cavs as a 18 year old rookie, he would've actually averaged 24 ppg as a rookie and 30 ppg as a 2nd year player.

So let me get this straight an 18 year old 175 lb Kobe would've averaged 24 ppg in 04 the exact same amount that he averaged at 25:mjlol:
And you talking bout fukking summer league like anyone gives a fukk the same summer league where josh Selby looked like an all star :mjlol: yeah you a Stan :mjlol: kobes an all time legend and there's nothing wrong with maturing into a great player which is what he needed and did he wasn't as good as bron was from the jump bron would've started on that lakers team and maybe helped them get to the finals a couple years earlier

nikka, Kobe was a fukking toothpick coming out of high school and his team instincts were at JR Smithian levels before Phil Jackson reigned him in, while LeBron already looked like a mid-00s NBA forward. He was riding the bench his first year because he wasn't ready to be a starter, point blank period.

I'm not talking stats. I'm talking moves, playing style, skill set. Kobe already had the fadeaway at 18. He looked like he did throughout his career. Kobe was ready. He just played with Shaq and 2 other all-stars.

And FYI KD was just as skinny as a rookie and he averages 20ppg. Nothing outlandish about Kobe averaging 24ppg. You also gotta remember young Kobe was very selfish. He wanted to take a shot every possesion. He would probably have had a low assist total and taken a lot of shots to get to 24 ppg.

Notice the playing with numbers.

He picked Kobe's 5th season, his first elite one, where Kobe turned 22 two months before the season started.

Then compares it to Lebron's 4th season, his 3rd straight elite season but a bit of a down year numbers-wise, where Lebron was only 21 when the season started.

Compare straight-up with Lebron's 2nd season to Kobe's 2nd, or 3rd to 3rd, or 4th to 4th, or 5th to 5th, and Lebron's numbers would have washed Kobe's.

The thing that kills me is you have folks in here talking as if LeBron doesn't have 3 championships as the MAN on his team.

I think you mean 1 title.

2013 was a gift from Ray Allen and 2016 was a gift from Kyrie.

LeBron was saved from a 1-7 finals record by 2 of the greatest clutch shots of all time.

Plus LeBron has let 3 SFs playing against him win finals MVP.

I'll give you that LeBron is better at accumulating stats than Kobe. Mainly cause that's what he plays for and because his style is more conducive to it. He's bigger, more physical, and dominates the ball more.

However, Kobe is better at actually playing the game. His skill level is higher. He is more versatile. He's better at playing off the strengths of his teammates rather than forcing them to conform to his style so he can succeed.

This is the reason Kobe has had the more successful career. He knows how to actually play basketball. LeBron knows how to rack to stats. Those are 2 completely different things that Bron stans like you don't understand but guys who play the game understand.

That is why Kobe is universally ranked higher than LeBron by his peers.

Lets compare them at 32.
Bron 26/9/9 PO 33/9/8
Kobe 25/5/5 PO 23/3/3

Started better and will finish better :wow:

I'm not even going to entertain this cherry-picked, intellectually dishonest nonsense :mjlol:

FOH:camby:

Kobe would've avg bout 35 a game if they didn't have Shaq

Gotta go with Bean

Kobe might've averaged 40 a game one season back then if the lakers didn't have shaq. Its crazy how much he had to hold back individually to run Phil's offense and play with Shaq. I'll take da rings though:manny:
