not saying I agree but it’s tough for black parents especially those who grew up in the civil rights era, lived in Italy to then watch your son who is a star to marry outside his race :hubie:

I really hope bygones can be bygones and they can get to know their grand children more

If this ain’t the truth. I grew up around hella baby boomer black parents. You can see that they just settle with it when it does happen but you know it doesn’t sit right with them.

Was on the train this morning and the train doors opened to a new stand racked with Kobe mags. This shyt is still unreal to me. He wasnt my favorite basketball player but was my go to example of relentlessness and hard work. He embodied it. Go hard or don’t go at all. This niqqa didn’t live in a gray area. I always had the upmost respect for that, even as him being a younger cat to me. Kobe is the type that makes you look back at your own life and wonder if you applied his drive to certain segments in your life...where would you be? What would have been your outcome other than successful? That’s why this is bothersome. Dude was a life example. That focus man.....:whew:

Since Kobe’s passing, I’ve been playing Coltrane’s “Wise One” something heavy. Reminds me of him...

Just came across Zach Randolphs wife’s page :(

Not that this needs to be said (because we all already know) but this is a great example of why you should never listen to the media and the way they portray situations--use your own eyes, ears and heart to form your own opinions.

When Zbo was in NY, the picture that was painted of him was that he was the laziest, wasted potential, mistake of a roster space since Eddie Curry. If you had asked me then "who's family is closest with the hardest working NBA player, and respected to a level that their kids hang daily," I'd say Derek Fisher because he's portrayed as the lunchpail toting point guard keeping the headstrong LA stars in line.

Welp, turns out one is an adulterous snake, and the other is damn near breaking bread on Christmas mornings with the Bryants.

Im feeling sad yet grateful all again.

My lil one just turned 11, still my only kid and slowly but surely she is growing up too damn fast. I'd swear on life I have had the best child ever, I have never had a single problem with her, I have only been mad at hrr once and she was 2 lol, pulled all the keys off my laptop :snoop:.

I have the GOAT daughter :blessed:

Came across this video and thought Russel dropped some pretty inspiring words. It's crazy how many stories I'm coming across of people who weren't even huge basketball fans who are really distraught over this. Kobe's death has shaken the entire world to its core.

I said earlier that this was gonna cause a shift in the entire culture of our society and I really mean it. Its made everybody face their own mortality and reminded us all of what really matters. If somebody as brilliant as Kobe can be wiped out just like that. In an instant. Then there's no point stressing about our own demise. Death will come when it comes.

I feel like my entire outlook on life has changed. I find myself no longer stressing over meaningless bullshyt. It doesn't even enter my brain anymore. I can't believe how much of my time I've dedicated to shyt that doesn't even bring me joy. I completely missed the whole point. Smh. But it’s all crystal clear to me now. I’m still sad as fukk but I also feel more inspired than ever.

Mannnnn....this dude was the hardest working and focused athlete I ever saw. He was a living and breathing embodiment of that Payton run vs the Lions. I always respected him for that. This shyt is hard to accept....
