I feel the same way breh. I don’t think I’ll get over it . Just still the most random shocking deaths I can think of in my years on this earth. Especially the way it happened...man a helicopter accident.

As for the JFK example other people may criticize you saying that but I like the comparison. That’s the point of the comparison though it means when it happens it’s a big time shock...so there could be other situations like Kobe in the future we just have no way of knowing

Just best to give our heroes their roses while they are here

I’m realizing more and more in recent years that something is just off about Jay. Did he think wearing a jersey like it was a chain would impress people?

Thing is Kobe a bigger worldwide icon than Jay...

Jay Z wife is more on Kobe's level worldwide

I just think Jay Z is awkward and insecure AF and doesn't know how to express himself.. I really think the passing of Kobe affected him like everyone else..

Been over a week and it's the first thing I think about when I wake up

So Feb 24th is the Staples memorial service, but I wonder when is the traditional memorial service

Obviously the severity of the accident they probably dont want the bodies to be viewed at all and also the privacy issue. I think the family will want that 1 part of kobe to themselves and they deserve to grieve in piece

Off topic but what’s the story behind this pic? Was he sad or reflecting what he had to overcome winning the finals?

He was thinking about his parents? They weren’t around at that time?

The falling out occurred in 2000, though neither Joe nor Kobe talks about it publicly anymore. At 21, Kobe got engaged to 18-year-old Vanessa Laine, whom he had met on the set of a video shoot when she was a high school senior. Joe did not approve. The problem, according to the Los Angeles Times, was that Joe was “uncomfortable that Vanessa, a Latina, is not African-American, and he is uneasy with [Kobe’s] selfless devotion to her.” When Kobe and Vanessa got married the following year, Joe and Pam didn’t attend the wedding. When the Lakers played three games in Philadelphia during the 2001 NBA Finals, Joe was nowhere to be found. When, at the end of that series, the Lakers triumphed and Kobe was spotted holding the trophy in the shower and crying, everyone assumed it was out of joy, or relief. But he later told the Times, ‘That was about my dad.’

not saying I agree but it’s tough for black parents especially those who grew up in the civil rights era, lived in Italy to then watch your son who is a star to marry outside his race :hubie:

I really hope bygones can be bygones and they can get to know their grand children more

shyt I understand 100%. My granny would definitely feel some type of way if I brought anything one but a black women to her home. It's just different for someone who grew up under Jim Crow.

Looking at it now though with him gone, it probably all seems worthless right now.

:mjcry: seeing Gigi full of life doing what all the current teenagers do

:mjcry: actually seeing her and Kobe inside of the helicopter

:mjcry: once again seeing how great Kobe was to others. Reading what zbos wife had to say about how he treated her son and daughter.

It’s crazy for many years I thought Kobe was a a$$hole but I was so wrong. His on / off the court demeanour was a straight 180
