Above the fray.
at what point 5 figures or 6 figures maybe more before you invest in a classic time piece (rolex) i dont stunt or floss so i am saying after you reach 100,000 investing in a rolex would push you to 7 figures quicker like network meetings, attracting clientele, etc.

my boy says if he sees over a spare 25 000 then he'd get a rolex, whats your take ?

and by the way i cant get a rolex yet it would be stupid but when would it not be a stupid purchase ?

Since you're asking, gotta be honest.

Rolex watches and other luxury items are for people with trust funds. If you own an alarm clock and have to get up every morning to work..it's a COMPLETE waste of money.

Buying a rollie is a great investment and YES future clients or bosses will take heed. Also they never lose value.

U can buy an omega today and try to sell it off 6 months later ur taking a hit.

Rollies will keep their value.

Depends on the condition of the watch, so a limited edition or a discontinued rolex in mint condition will appreciate in value and is a good investment.
If you are going to buy a watch do your research on the models but one thing about rolexs is never stunt with a rolex if you are a regular dude because you can be at risk of getting robbed.

Unless you know why you’re buying a Rolex, don’t.

Doesn’t make sense spending so much when it’s just for the label. There are other automatic Swiss watch brands out there that are very well built for a fraction of the price; but of course not the prestige of the name

I personally wear Tissot

Just buy a good knockoff. It's not like anyone is going to ask you to take it off and inspect it.

With 50K to spare on vanity items, I'd rather get custom clothing, or even a custom watch made. While I understand the value of a status symbol, something about spending that kind of money on something that isn't even unique seems like a bit of a waste.

Also no one likes going to a conference where one of the key note speakers is some guy constantly adjusting his Rolex, to make sure everyone knows he has a Rolex. It might be attractive for dedicated gold diggers, but women with any substance aren't impressed by that kind of grandstanding.

i wouldnt spend more than 10 000 on a watch, even if i hit the lotto but :russ: the key note speaker.

A rolex is a status watch. The best time to buy is when you can also afford the luxury house, neighborhood, car, job, and lifestyle to go with it. Otherwise, it's no point, if you don't have the other stuff. Buying the watch and not having the other stuff will have the opposite effect that you would want it to have.

some individuals can be in careers where they are stuck in that rot and need to move up the ladder, in certain environments showing yourworth gets you elevated and make much more connections and etc, over all better business.

when you stuck renting but want to buy an apartement but cant seem to get that extra leverage, buying a rolex will show everyone you in contact with you value yours and their time. its a great impression and realer to because its not fancy its built on durable highest standard reputation.

but i agree with you, i probably wont buy (if i could afford) a rolex until i have my own home but with lifes ups and downs sometimes i think a rolex would be a good investment, the universe will start giving back what you put into it.

Rolex watches really hold their value

you spend $25000 for example on a rolex and $25000 on a car in 5 years time the watch will be worth more than the car

my Dad has watches that are worth 2 to 3 times what he paid for them in the 70s and 80s .....

motherfukkers will criticise you for buying a luxury item outright

but at the same time spend thousands of dollars on a car lease for something they will never own

shyt is backwards....

we all do stupid shyt with our money.... life would be pretty boring if we were 100% financially responsible all the time

as long as you are taking care of the necessities and priorities , have money saved for a rainy day and towards your future

then spend your money how you like , there is no justification for buying 99.9% of the stupid shyt that we spend our money on, doesnt matter if its Rolexes, Iphones, Nikes or Toyotas, there will always be a cheaper alternative ....

If it makes you feel happy buying it then buy it, fukk justification

I got a Panerai lumior automatic and a steel Patek philippe nautilus ...... Ill either pass em on to my loved ones when Im lowered into the dirt or if God forbid I need money Ill sell em....

its never that serious

Do you anticipate selling either of those watches due to the uncertainty about the economy?
