Let me get this straight. According to Woods, New Day elevated the position of black wrestlers from people who shuck and jive into.... people who shuck and jive? There's not a single black person in the world title picture or main event scene, but some cornballs coming out in the middle of the show dancing and making jokes is black excellence?

Also, the unicorn stuff/gear The New Day wear is symbolic. I think they wear the horns because they know in their industry black people have never ever been givin the creative freedom or mic time that they have been give. In a sense, in their industry, they are unicorns because blacks people have never done the type of things they have in the E. Before New Day when was the last time a black wrestler or group got time on each week's show and held a belt for so long?

Far as New Day being a stereotype, there are far less stereotypical aspects of their characters than there are non-stereotypical. Big E isn't really the typecast "big strong black man"- he's built the way he is- what's he supposed to be, a big vulnerable muhfukka? Kofi is cringe worthy with the twerking, but other than that, he's just a goofy MF. And Xavier's a textbook black nerd, but that's his real personality. If these dudes were opposed to playing these roles and were being forced to do this stuff, or were repeating lines that were fed to them,that would be "c00ning". Otherwise, they're just out there doin' a fun gimmick. Black folks do have the right to have fun regardless of who TF is watching us do it.
