the producers obviously wanted Colin Firth back by any means necessary and you either with it or not:beli:
Set pieces were great but they are just random, no flow:ld:
they treated the supporting characters from Kingsman 1 like shyt, his partner Roxy gets blown up at the beginning and Merlin blows himself up for no reason at the end:mjcry:
Channing Tatem is not really in this movie, but at the end they set it up like he's taking over the franchise:dwillhuh:
Its like the producers wrote out Eggsy on purpose so that Channing could slide right in even though he's not really doing anything in this movie.
He is literally put on ice for most of the movie and they bring in Oberyn from GoT to take over the scenes Channing should have been in:what:
Its like Channing negotiated that the only way he would make an appearance in this one was that he got his own in the future.:ufdup:
And if Prince was alive, no way he would have let them use "Lets Go Crazy":dame:

Elton John saved this movie for me. It had its moments, but they ratcheted up the camp factor x10 and sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. The violence and action was over-stylized, especially the first scene. That kinda of stuff just bores me to tears. It felt so CGI/video game like, it's hard to get invested in it. Plus don't blatantly steal from better movies. The whole Winter Soldier metal hand gripping the pavement only forced a snap comparison, and Kingsmen 2 loses there. I also didn't buy Eggsy dating a princess and
becoming a prince. There's fantasy and there's stretching suspension of disbelief. Come on now.
I did like some of the new tricks, like the lasso and twist with Harry, but it wasn't enough to keep me intrigued for 2 1/2 hours. I kept checking my phone towards the end because it just started dragging. But Elton John helped provide comic relief in that last half hour. I hope he does more comedy.

4 out of 10 just because of Elton John really, oh and the lasso dude.

Saw it last night. The more I think about it the more I didn't like it. Story seems all over the place. They shoe horn in a little political satire in the end that doesn't make sense. Jokes fell flat for me. Seem forced. Also none of the action scenes are anywhere near as memorable as the church scene.

Pretty bad when the first film pretty clearly calls out how bad villain = Bad Movie. This movie had such a terrible villain and turn out to be a huge disappointment. .


Villain was awful. Action was not on-par. Didn't have any amazing moments. Too much fugly CGI. It either took itself too serious or too cheesy. It didn't hit the sweet spot like the first film did.
