Nomura having to watch YouTube videos to remind himself what’s going on plot-wise is :snoop:

:dead: This is the first video game series where confusion kept me from being a true fan. Metal Gear was next, and I'm gonna lump Dragon's Dogma in there too.

Like I'll play future iterations if the gameplay caters but I'll be mentally checked out on lore shyt.

I woke up at 3 am after having a dream about my ex and the Kairi theme was stuck in my head so I played it on my headphones

People are taking this interview out of context.

Nomura is writing KH4 with the end of the series in mind. Not that KH4 is the ending of the series.

He is planning on retiring in "A few years" But Tai Yause is still around and will probably be promoted to lead at that point. Not to mention KH4 in general is bringing on new writers aboard (Namely people who worked on TWEWY)

He acknowledged that KH4 is more like "KH13" but that the story is being "Reset" to allow new players to join in. (which I admit this doesn't make much sense when looking at all the connections to the mobile games. But at the same time Sora himself is pretty much unaware of any of the happenings throughout the mobile games. So in that sense I can see what he means. Sora is the audience)

While I don't think this new "lost master arc" will be as long as "the dark seeker saga" I also don't think KH4 is anywhere near the ending of this series lol

Missing Link
KH4
Verum Rex
Another Mobile Game
KH5(Ending)

This is how i see the rest of the series going. I for one am glad that a actual ending to this series is being cooked up!.

Yoko shimomura might be the actual GOAT composer
She is.

They’ve wrote themselves in a bind that‘s going to be hard to get out of without having to resort to “time travel” to wiggle their way out of it.

I don’t know how it’s going to allow new players to join if it’s still going to be dependent on the mobile game to tie in the story.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if he started to using Youtube theories and fan speculation to fill in the gap for example the missing Foretelle being Kairi’s grandmother :russ:

:yeshrug:KH’s story is confusing af I don’t see how people. Put MGS’s story in the same box as KH. When MGS’s story is easy to understand if you just play the games.

I'm someone who gives Nomura's writing more credit then most but even I am questioning how he gonna make this work lol.

But then in this same interview Nomura is talking about how he had thoughts of Quadratum since KH1 lol so who knows.

"Interviewer: There does seem to be an increase in reality-based settings in recent works. Speaking of "unreality within reality," in the opening monologue of "Kingdom Hearts," the line goes, “I’ve been having these weird thoughts lately… like, is any of this for real, or not?” Was "Quadratum" already in mind at that time?

Nomura: We didn’t have the name "Quadratum" back then, but the idea was there. It’s been a long setup, knowing that we’d reach this point one day (laughs
)."

The whole Quadratum aspect of this new arc is what I'm interested in the most. This whole "Fantasy based on reality" thing has been Nomura's dream child since VS 13 got canceled lol. I'm just ready to see what the hype is about.
