I still can't believe Dre mixed that album, some of those tracks sounded terrible. "Oh My God", "30 Something" sounded dated and the song with Usher.

There were some great tracks "I Made It", "Kingdom Come", "Do You Wanna Ride". shyt "Lost Ones" is one of my favourite Jay songs. I know it gets hate but I fukk with "Minority Report" too.

You can tell he kind of rushed this out though, right down to the fact he left the half assed vocals he recorded when he was sick.

No Bp3 and mchg are worse.

I still listen to a couple of songs from kingdom come

BP3 IDK bout that one.....that one kinda grew on me

BUT Magna Carta most definitely is his weakest. He had some crack on it, but nikka REALLY wasn't trying AT ALL on that CD.

Kingdome Come got MASSIVE hate when it came out. I was one of the haters. Until I really listened to this LP more and more as I got older. I was 18 when it dropped. I am 28 now. This was a grown man LP from Jigga that everybody dismissed as garbage. What Nas did with "Life Is Good"....THIS was Jigga's "Life Is Good". American Gangster was his return on some Reasonable Doubt swag.

Listened to this for the first time in ages today. This shyt is absolute garbage. There's a couple good tracks like Beach Chair and 30 Something, but everything about this album is uninspired.

Every ounce of hate this has ever received was warranted.

Album is 18 years old today :old:

This probably the Jay album I've listened to the least.

It's time for a re-listen

I still like Kingdom Come, I wish Jay would've stuck with this theme for the later part of his career..

Grown man music, #GreyHova
I don't got one gun on me
Got a sum on me
To hire a gun army, get you spun like laundry
And I'll be somewhere palm trees calmly :ahh:
Listening to R&B
When we get call he's
No longer with us
Fire your babysitters

This is probably his worst one. Only songs worth revisting:

The Prelude- sounded like RD Jay Z, which is probably why the rest of the album is so disappointing because the album never reached this high again.

Kingdom Come

Lost Ones

Do You Wanna Ride

30 Something- 30's the new 20 is still cringe, but overall this still goes.

nah it's actually not that bad (by Jay-Z standards ofc). Matter fact this might be the first and only time I'm gonna bother to rate this clown's shyt:

RD (Mid)
IML 1 (Mid)
Vol 2 (Good, got carried by the features)
Vol 3 (Weed plate)
Dynasty (Weed plate)
Blueprint (Mid)
BP 2 (Super mid)
Black Album (Overrated trash)
Cingdom Come (Alright)
American Gangster (Good)
BP3 (Worst trash to ever be recorded)
WTT (Dope, carried by Kanye)
MCHG (Complete trash)
4:44 (Trash)

the rest of his shyt I didn't even bother listening nikka is like the most overrated tryhard mf in hip-hop history maybe save for Drake :francis:

Jay-Z is a dope rapper, but without Kanye, Jay-Z would never have been as big as he is today.

After revisiting his discography, I realized how much Kanye carried Jay Z for years.

That being said, Kingdom Come is still mid but better than most albums that get released today.

That intro was fire...

It was his worst but then he said not so fast and gave you BP3 and Magna Carta :heh:

What separates jays early mid albums (Vol 3, half of Dynasty) from his later mid albums (MCHG and BP3) is on his early albums even on bad beats he’s fukking SPITTING. :damn: That ngga is spiting some shyt on ‘thing that you do’ with Mariah Carey. Or on dynasty, there’s half absolute classics and half Atrociously bad poppy throwaway songs. But on squeeze first i hated it in real time bc it didn’t fit but now listen to that track and just rewind over and over he fukking spazzed. KC is kinda in between; he was still spittin somewhat just not to his old standard, but you still wanna hear what he saying. But on BP3 and MCHG when the song is bad it’s just bad. Beat, lyrics, hook everything . :heh:
