What is so inherently immature about jeans/sneakers?
There are plenty of streetwear/workwear/athleisure pieces that are low profile and understated
Just dress for the occasion
First off, I wouldn't say wrong. I'm going to step away from this personally and just play devil's advocate
Does this look ok to y'all? This man damn near 60... He's successful, rich or well off, famous and deep in hip-hop... If ANYONE should be dressing like this, it should be him. This is his culture. And yet we clown the fukk out of this negro, for how he dresses, because he's too old to be looking like this. Same fit on a 21 year old and you wouldn't even think twice.
At some age, you're supposed to put that shyt away and dress like the pics in the OP. Maybe even not that over the top... But look at HOV.. look how he dresses now. It's night and day. Look at Nas... He ain't 1994 Queens dress style no more. But Cam'Ron is. And he's seen as immature. Not taken seriously. Not a business man. Even though he's successful and a businessman
Its just the look. It says something. Your own mothers probably told you, like mine told me, to stop dressing a certain way.. And we fought them "NO MA... THIS IS THE STYLE NOW." So our parents knew. And he we are, our parents age, still dressing the same as high school.
When does your closet become more business and less casual? Probably when you involved in more business and need the clothes to match. So your closet full of jordans and tees says to the world, you ain't got enough going on to need the change. And your dress code tells the outside world, "You're a kid, childish, thugging or not to be taken seriously"
