A lot of hit dogs in here. He didn’t say wear only suits. Y’all know some jeans and a button up works at the grocery store too. You know shorts and a polo work in 90 degree heat too.

Just say you still living out your childhood brehs. I am TOO. I still rock all the same childish shyt as I did in high school. But unlike some, I don’t pretend it’s something else. There is no reason a 30-40 year old man should be dressing like his son everyday. Not every damn day.

Youtube talking head/coach culture is bemusing to watch sometimes

I get what you're saying and I agree with you but I think Black Men's images are hijacked by the media. This is insidious and done by White media a lot. We have complained on here about what the media's images of us they put out so maybe if we control it in our own manner then it would something no one can take from us. Hell, you know how many women, Black women, like a man in a suit, stepping out smelling nice looking good? It's not always about white people.

This brotha in Dallas owns @blackmeswear IG and he goes to different cities doing flash mobs with Black men. I think it's dope. I'm not going to dress like this every day but it shouldn't make us uncomfortable nor should other brothas be clowned or accused of wanting white acceptance for wanting to every now and then.

Note people's biggest reason why they are against suits is because they think it's about white people. Narrow minded. :snoop:

Who are you trying to improve your image for if not the European:comeon:

The Nation Of Islam does it as a matter of discipline and order, structure. So its different even though i wish they did it another way. nikkas like yall and Kevin Samuels aint doing this to represent likemindedness or structure among black men. Black men should have our chest out somewhere tropical, not trying to squeeze into European suits. But ill let yall have at it:mjlol:. Yall cant say shyt about a weave from this point foward, this is far worst. 99% of yall aint grow up wearing suits wear its normalized like women were with weaves. Yall are consciencly thinking about how whites view you, when you make this change

What is so inherently immature about jeans/sneakers?
There are plenty of streetwear/workwear/athleisure pieces that are low profile and understated
Just dress for the occasion

First off, I wouldn't say wrong. I'm going to step away from this personally and just play devil's advocate

Does this look ok to y'all? This man damn near 60... He's successful, rich or well off, famous and deep in hip-hop... If ANYONE should be dressing like this, it should be him. This is his culture. And yet we clown the fukk out of this negro, for how he dresses, because he's too old to be looking like this. Same fit on a 21 year old and you wouldn't even think twice.

At some age, you're supposed to put that shyt away and dress like the pics in the OP. Maybe even not that over the top... But look at HOV.. look how he dresses now. It's night and day. Look at Nas... He ain't 1994 Queens dress style no more. But Cam'Ron is. And he's seen as immature. Not taken seriously. Not a business man. Even though he's successful and a businessman

Its just the look. It says something. Your own mothers probably told you, like mine told me, to stop dressing a certain way.. And we fought them "NO MA... THIS IS THE STYLE NOW." So our parents knew. And he we are, our parents age, still dressing the same as high school.

When does your closet become more business and less casual? Probably when you involved in more business and need the clothes to match. So your closet full of jordans and tees says to the world, you ain't got enough going on to need the change. And your dress code tells the outside world, "You're a kid, childish, thugging or not to be taken seriously"

I dress up all the time but I don’t like this advice because why should I have to have a suit on to be treated like the average white man in flip flops and chino shorts? This is c00n shyt to deflect off of white supremacy. Do we have personal agency? Yes. Do I dress suited and booted? Yes. But I also realize that I’m just a nikka in a suit especially when I’m anywhere upscale.

Unfortunately our reputation precedes us since we are still a minority. And we have no real power or resources to make a difference in this system of white supremacy.
