I wear business attire when the situation calls for it, outside of that I stick to wearing sports pants or shorts with some clean looking Js. i have no problem dressing up but I'm bot going to change my appearance just to try and have people view me differently.

I dress up all the time but I don’t like this advice because why should I have to have a suit on to be treated like the average white man in flip flops and chino shorts? This is c00n shyt to deflect off of white supremacy. Do we have personal agency? Yes. Do I dress suited and booted? Yes. But I also realize that I’m just a nikka in a suit especially when I’m anywhere upscale.

Facts - that’s all it’s ever been. I notice this trend a lot by recent immigrants and the children of immigrants. This is a toxic fukking mindset that vilifies black men as if we created our image and are responsible for how society treats us.

This shyt has been going on for hundreds of years - whatever superficial brownie points you get from people thinking “oh look at this one - he’s different, must be important” is fake as hell. You’re STILL a nikka at the end of the day, trying to appease these people won’t get you shyt but mentally fukked up.

Wear what you feel comfortable (and look good) in and don’t worry about other people’s opinions. I’ve never been criticised for my wide selection of sneakers and fashion sense
