That’s just what it is. A lot of Black men have suboptimal finances because they’ve spent so much money on clothes, shoes and accessories to be up on the latest trends.
I just don’t see my non-Black counterparts having to do all of that beyond a certain age.
The white, asian and other men I know aren’t trying to piece together all these different outfits once they are in their mid-30s. They are usually focused on building wealth and maintaining their families. Or they at least have a heavy interest in wealth building. We’re usually talking finance and investments.
Most Black men in their mid-30s are still focused on piecing together outfits to get the broads on Saturday night and during Sunday Funday. It’s pretty sad when you really think about it. It’s as if we’re stuck in this extended adolescence as Black men overall. We’re only talking sports, topical new items, women and other bullshyt. We don’t get serious about life until we are in our 50s! Brehs talking about starting an IRA at 50!
Me and the Coli Telegram brehs tried to put the Coli on a cryptocurrency play back in January. It fell flat. If we’d moved as a collective like those Reddit cacs, we’d all be sitting pretty right now.
My investment in that play is almost worth $300k right now. It’s hard to get Black men to listen and make moves together.
