A lot of emotional responses in this thread, but he ain’t lying. If you want to be in a high position in corporate America, you gotta play by the rules. It ain’t for just Black people either. It’s not like you see white dudes with long or eccentric hair being Vice Presidents of major corporations.

This is America though. If you wanna rock long hair or locks, you can choose to be your own boss and make as much money as you’re able to.

As long as you present yourself professionally it shouldn't matter how your natural hair looks. I could see if you were dying your hair crazy colors and shyt but dreads is how hair grows out of the head naturally.

I agree with the dreads but even with dreads there is a proper way to wear them.

He already contradicted himself. I remember in that livestream people said self-employment as an alternative to Corporate Americas standard, then he moved the goalpost by saying that there's a limit to self-employment and owning your own business.

Now if you've listened to him recently, you know hes said that putting your girlfriend/wife on your own payroll is the only way she will fully submit and she shouldn't be getting her check from another man

As a black man with clean locs going almost on a decade there is truth to what he is saying. Unless you are in a left-leaning corporation or have established rapport with white people they will play a factor, but that is no reason for me to cut them or dismiss KS just because I disagree with that point.

yeah, at my old job, there was a Jewish guy who they wouldn’t promote because he had long hair and had questionable hygiene. He could have had one of the top positions, if he had cleaned himself up.

I’ve worked at some luxury retailers where the expectation is that your hygiene and grooming is immaculate. No long fingernails, hair short & cut (or bald), beard has to be shaped up & trimmed

Brehs with dreads need not apply so while I don’t agree with breh in the OP all the way I understand the sentiment behind it

He's right to a degree. If you want to rise up to the top in the corporate world or politics, you'll have to be clean shaven and have a low cut hairstyle. Black, white, asian, etc. You won't see a top corporate executive cac looking like someone from duck dynasty or a brother with Philly Muslim beard and locs down their back. Not just here in America either.

It is what it is unfortunately.
