Rushed marriages that have a high likelihood of ending in divorce (and a broken family) are not good for the black community.

Yes, I do, I believe black marriage is best for the black community, what is the alternative?

I think there are far other things the black community can do and focus on that will improve the quality of black relationships.

For example, get rid of the hyper sexuality on both sides, glamorize character, morals, having principles etc.

Teaching sexual discipline, breaking down the programming we receive from porn, music, tv shows and movies. Poverty consciousness, healing from past traumas.

Marriage will not change the mindset one has or their lack of sexual discipline, their values, etc.

Women aren’t taught to go after men with high character. I never hear people talk about beyond the surface characteristics when it comes to what they want in a partner.

If marriage can end in divorce fairly or pretty close to it then I’d say sure go ahead.

But women are for marriage because they know the system is on their side at the end of that tunnel.

It can help but if those things aren’t addressed marriage ain’t gonna save the relationship.

There are too many women that call into his show that chase after the title of being a wife but they still have baggage, unaddressed traumas, don’t know the responsibility of being a wife and aren’t prepared for it.

I think there’s kind of a breakdown in communication here. I think most people would agree with you that a chick should grab a Harvard med grad if she can.

The disconnect is the lane Kevin is in. Kevin is dealing with a very specific kind of woman and man. This is a woman who doesn’t want to work and have a man take care of her. A Harvard Med Grad going into his residency isn’t going to have the money to give that woman the lifestyle she says she wants in the first 10 years of his career when he’s making 39k and paying down med school loans. If the woman’s goal is too stop working once she’s married, the Harvard Med grad isn’t going to provide that lifestyle right away.

I think Kevin could do a better job of making this distinction. But all of his callers are 30ish year old women who are trying to get out of the game. But he does mention how other races of women lock those kinds of guys down while they’re still in college.

I think he says this often. NO MAN is in that position until his 30's and 40's, that's why he is big on age gap dating.
