Black marriage rate was 80%
The black men were more employed at a higher %.
And black home ownership was double what it is now
And in between then and now, a whole hell of a lot of POLITICAL stuff happened that has fukk all
to do with dress.
Integrating schools ? Ok. Well fukk that, I'll redline the city and make it difficult for you to move into my suburb.
Sharing the same work place ? Ok. Well fukk that, I'll institute "Will to Work" and have the ability to fire you on the spot.
I'll use all kinds of underhanded "Get my family in before you" shyt to ensure my economic superiority. And so on.
Can't just kill you legally ? Ok. I'll institute policies like "Stand Your Ground" or work hand in hand with the NRA to push white supremacist rhetoric in my "Self defense" material.
And on and on and on.
Never mind the recessions & recessions in name only (Depressions), assassinations of civil rights leaders, the proliferation of heroine and crack, the weakening
of the highschool diploma, jobs being shipped overseas, rising inflation, etc.
All of this has impacted Black people more than how they dress, speak, dance, the music they listen etc.
Whats wrong with a button up,jeans and timbs? Everything lol. That shyt was laughable, that style was for nikkas who were struggling to make the transition from the streets to the fame

.
Thats a perfect example right there, dudes were dressing like that believing they were on their grown man shyt. While the majority weren't doing any grown man work behind it. Point being black men don't need to worry about some mass image makeover. Black men need a mass THINKING makeover,a complete reprogramming of the way we were brainwashed to think by the European. I don't think black men wear things that demean our image as men in the first place. Now our women?thats a completely different story.
Does dressing young often symbolize someone has an immature way of thinking? Yes I do agree with that.
But dressing grown doesn't change the mindset. Focus on whats important which is changing the mindset, then more than likely you would see an indifference about appearance. People who are actually working on things they are passionate about, don't have time to focus on fashion choices.

My second level manager wears Cornrows and Timbs and makes $120,000 a year.
If you're good at your job, you can dress as you please.
This same argument is never levied at tattoo wearing, duck dynasty beard having, skinny jean rocking ,vans in the work place white boys.
It's always about policing "Black men" to make them "Fit".
