firstly, the players sign to the owner’s org who then cuts the check, yes, orgs control the relationship, deal with it, that’s life. Secondly, one can be against both teams signing players to LT deals just to deal them a year later AND see the issues with players playing GM.Yall nikkas need to stop with that

Well clearly this is the issue with the player empowerment GM era, trying to appease players, they got stuck trying to appease KD who has stupidly attached himself to an unpredictable Kyrie while also running up against a player, Harden, who was not committed to the fukkery Kyrie brought to a team so he demanded a trade.
If the team does nothing then people like you run with “oh well the team didn’t do what KD asked so they deserve to take an L“. KD is the idiot in this, his loyalty to a delusional dude who chose to be unavailable (not just the vax thing as he skipped out on them to frolicking with his sister the year before) has led to this mess - shytty coaching hire, loss of harden, gutted team, etc. Worst thing is KD doesn’t have to own any of it because, surprise, he’s not the GM. The rumors before the trade was that in the worst case Morey was going to wait until the offseason and unload Simmons and Harris and find a way to get Harden. Who knows how hard that would have been , but with Harden apparently willing to take less money it might have been a real threat for the Nets to consider.
