It's true

Or he would have at least one DPOY like the GOAT does :lolbron:

Kawhi has 2 and even Draymond has 1 if Lebron was that great defensively, he would have at least 1 too.

He's a fantastic help defender and has the ability and capability to be a lock down defender. Dude can put the clamps on anyone (except KD :lolbron:) when he wants to but he doesn't do it consistently enough and he doesn't lock in defensively that way to garner those votes. He just makes great defensive plays when the team needs it and thats valuable as well. I always thought LBJ should have put his mind to getting at least 1 DPOY though.

The same can be said for Kawhi and the Spurs against LeBron.
When I say "defensive scheme" I'm referring to that it was not "oh Bron stayed in front of Rose" or someone defending Rose in iso etc that stopped him

The vid shows how Heat as a team guarded rose: surrounded paint when he drove, during pick and roll, etc thus halting him

Again Rose was our ONLY weapon, so if they surround and stop him, they stopped our entire offense

True the Heat did defend him well as a team overall, but that 4th quarter Lebron had him mostly 1 on 1 and had him clamped.

honnestly kawhi until the last two season is the only guy i can name a true LOCKDOWN defender..

and it's devastating on you physically to have to anticipate someone's movement.. move fast then them to block their path.. most good defenders will do it a few possessions

butler, PG, Chris paul.. all lock down defenders but even they will take possessions off... shyt is tiring.

lebron was better than kawhi 2 season ago on defense but it went unnoticed

Philly
give me 3 examples of pippen locking down an opponent( holding them below their averages and making it a struggle)instead of posting edited YouTube videos

I've never heard a competent person that knows basketball say Pippen wasn't a lockdown defender. The fact that you even said this is appalling. Who guarded the best players on opposing teams when the Bulls won their 6 championships? You think Pippen averged almost 3 steals per game by just getting deflections and not on ball defense? He could guard 1-4 easily

Bron was never a lock down defender- as in an entire season or two of severely impacting the best players nightly. He was an elite help defender, a great instinctive defender and could defend 1-on-1 against a best player in spurts. This is mostly due to his shaky footwork. Man to man defense is so dependent on footwork.

Thing is 'lockdown' defenders don't really exist anymore. You've got maybe 1 in the league right now in Robeson. Tony Allen was but he's old now, and Kawhi isn't quite at the same level since he started having the burden of having the offense run through him. This ain't the 80's or the 90's. Now that guys can't hand check and defenses can't essentially just zone up off ball you don't have 'lockdown' perimeter D anymore. On top of that offensive players are way more willing to shoot the 3 than they were back in Jordan/Pippin era which makes it that much more difficult. Regarding LeBron, dude has barely tried on D during the regular season for the past 2-4 years, but helpside/team D is as important now (or close to it) as on ball D. Harden got killed not because he was just poor on ball but because he was completely inattentive off ball and would get killed off of cuts, screens, or simply not rotating.

I’ve seen Bron lock down Schröder , Kemba , KP and Blake in the same month ...idk what y’all want that man to do to be considered a great defender :francis:

yup

LeBron James starting to take late-game defensive challenge against opponent's best

With James as the primary defender, Griffin couldn't bully his way into the paint. The advantage he typically has against most players thanks to his unique combination of speed, strength and athleticism isn't quite as apparent against the league's premier player. By the time Griffin finally got a few switches late in the fourth quarter, he was gassed, and came up empty.

It was shades of the New York game on Monday, a night when the Cavs -- and James -- held Kristaps Porzingis to 20 points on 7-of-21 (33.3 percent) shooting.

LeBron James guarded Dennis Schroder, Hawks with beautiful mind

Coach Tyronn Lue said James' job guarding Schroder was "one of the best I've seen all year."

"He's a great position defender against those point guards," Lue said. "Knowing how to give him space, but also being able to contest his shot, also be able to contest him at the basket because he's bigger. He knows how to play those point guards pretty well."

That Kenyon claim was so stupid. I added another 6-7 others onto your list after you posted it. And it was before
