He's not and that's OK. But I wish they'd stop painting the narrative that he is. Everyone knows AI wasn't a good defender but AI got credit for playing the passing lanes. Let Lebron get his help, weak side team defense accolades.

LeBron's defensive court vision and anticipation may be the greatest of all time. Right up there with someone like Jason Kidd. But you add the fact that LeBron has the physical tools to get to the right spot damn near every time.
You can't call Draymond Green a lock down defender and then say LeBron wasn't one at his best.
Its been speculated somewhere in LeBron's contract he gets an additional 3 dollars everytime a hater says his name, by latest estimations he has accrued over 800k since All star weekend alone, 600k via thecoli.

It’s not a stupid qualifier because the point I’m trying to make is that historically speaking superstar wings, the kinds that can lead teams to championships, had too much of a burden to carry in all other aspects to focus on being “lockdown defenders.” Like yes Draymond is incredible at what he does but especially because so little is asked of him in all other parts of the Warriors system that he can concentrate solely on defense.

It is a dumb qualifier. There's no excusing it or explaining it away. Or a "he could if he wanted to". There's just the question: is LeBron James a lockdown defender? And the answer is no. You're basically saying so yourself.
I don't get why people are so upset about this. This is just something that's not part of his skillset yet his fans INSIST on it being included because he is a very good help defender. It's crazy.
Saying LeBron is a lockdown defender is like saying LeBron is a knock-down shooter. It's just not true. Doesn't stop him from being one of the greatest players of all time but a legit criticism if people wish to use it in terms of him being the greatest. It's a weakness in his game just like everyone else has weaknesses.

Rose was our only offense weapon. It was easy for Heat to plan a defensive plan to stop us(which all they had to do was surround him when he did anything) as Rose was the offense
